Ruin has Sharp Fangs

by M. R. Pritchard

About this book

Ruin Has Sharp Fangs expands the Veil of Shadows universe with a standalone novella set at the edge of Hell’s authority.

When Ivy Calder accidentally summons a Ledger Demon while trying to save her flower shop, she becomes entangled with Thorn—an enforcer forged to collect souls and erase defiance.

But Thorn was created under laws that predate the current Queen of Hell. Laws that do not account for choice. Or love.

As Valentine’s Day approaches and Hell tightens its claim, Ivy and Thorn form a bond that cannot be categorized, controlled, or collected. What begins as survival becomes rebellion.

This standalone novel features a cameo appearance by Remington, son of Meg, Queen of Hell, and explores the cost of dismantling ancient systems within the Veil of Shadows world.

Lovely read

. R. Pritchard just knows how to write captivating books. There’s no way I’m skipping anything by this author. This novella follows a different set of characters from her other interconnected series, and I fell in love just the same. Ivy was a great FMC, she’s fierce, kind and hardworking. Our MMC? Well, he’s a demon so… intense and handsome, as expected. I love that he’s called Thorn and she’s called Ivy, both plant-related names. I don’t know why that was so cute to me. The flower shop in...

Thorn has a fun way with words

The MMC, Thorn, is good at responding in short, irrefutable sentences. He also has a Mensa style with the words he chooses, which I found unique, and his responses are unexpected and entertaining. His strong belief that some disruptions must be remedied by un-aliving someone was hilarious. The FMC, Ivy, is the light to his darkness and the only thing stopping him from following through with this, more than once. Ivy has a knack for making bad situations even worse and forcing them both to...

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons, the storyline was cute and enjoyable, the characters were relatable, but there was also deep concepts layered into it that made it even better. Thiz matter of choice, even if it was a demon bound by a ledger which would never be us, showed this deep core of our choices and how we often feel like we have things we have to do regardless of our feelings of it, but actually we have a choice even if it's uncomfortable, even if it goes against the order of...

I really enjoy this book. I truly love the Ivy- the main FMC!! Her tenacity was so refreshing to read. Then there is Thorn, not your typical Demon- that’s for sure!! your morally grey Demon😏 The pace of the book kept me glued in right to the end. Thank you Booksirens , Midnight Ledger Publisher and M.R Pritchard for this advance reader copy. ) !Image 85: Ruin has sharp fangs !Image 86!Image 87: Ruin has sharp fangs !Image 88 ![Image 89 Annette...
