Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

by Raven Flanagan
On silent wings the hunt begins.
Ophelia Ashcroft transfers to the prestigious Kilbride University following a shameful family scandal. Intending nothing more than to bury herself in academics, she vows to power through her final year of studies unhindered. She couldn’t have predicted a dead student being found on campus or gleaming eyes stalking her from the shadows of Massachusett’s fog-drenched trees.
Kilbride University conceals more than advanced history lectures and the magnetic professor teaching them. When she's thrown in the path of the enigmatic Professor Luther Quinn, desire upends caution, and she can’t resist the attraction building between them. But one torrid encounter isn’t enough for either of them. Longing becomes obsession, passion devours, and his protectiveness tastes dangerously like possession.
Luther Quinn must have her, for reasons that might save her or destroy them both. He’ll do anything to claim her, and worse things to keep her. Ophelia finds herself hunted on both fronts, torn between the horrible creatures in the dark and the enticing man who covets her very soul.
Distressed and afraid, Ophelia must decide whether to run from the man desperate to own her… or from monsters seeking revenge for a broken vow.

Age gap? Stalking? Dark academia? Threats lurking in the shadows? Amazing. The mystery had me hooked from the first line of the book. The romance was so well written i couldn’t stop reading! If you like dark romance and any of the things listed above then check this book out asap. Seriously was such an amazing ride and i enjoyed every second of being immersed in this universe. )

😮💨😮💨😮💨 Yes!! I had high hopes on the book just based on the cover, but I thoroughly enjoyed the writing, the spice, and the plot was indeed plotting. )

I love this author’s style of writing, it’s definitely good for when they write fantasy. So I felt this helped give off the proper gloomy spooky vibes for the setting. I felt as a whole, the fmc started off fairly strong but by the end was borderline insufferable, and the ending felt a bit rushed. That brooding professor with the ocean eyes though definitely was carrying this story, and the spice was spicing. Overall not a bad quick read )
