Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

by Lana Kole
As an angel, Rami won’t turn away anyone in need. Not their therapy patients and apparently, not even a demon.
Showing up on Rami’s doorstep bloody and beaten, Julian seems to need Rami’s help most of all. But no amount of patients - or patience - could prepare them for this injured hellion.
Julian, grateful for a taste of freedom, has a job to do. Tempting the angel should be easy, especially since they volunteer to show him all that Earth has to offer. The boundaries of temptation blur more with each simple pleasure Rami introduces him to, such as sweet coffees, baked goods, and soft caresses.
So excited to experience Earth, Julian didn’t expect to find Heaven in this angel’s arms.
Now there’s no going back. Not to a time before Rami and not to Hell. But if he fails his temptation, he won’t have a choice.
The most authentic human experience of all stands between Julian and freedom: love.
Tempt yourself with this heartfelt romcom as Rami and Julian discover what being human is all about.
Rami, the angel, is nonbinary and genderfluid.

They're an angel. He's a demon sent to tempt them. I expected an enemies to lovers with lots of really good spice (because Lana Kole does it well). And I got all of that. What I wasn't expecting was the way my heart absolutely melted for these two. Rami and Julian both need to be wrapped in warm hugs. They way they are SO SOFT for each other was so pure and so lovely. Any book that can make me laugh and swoon with the characters is an absolute win. This is my favorite in the series by far....

I am really enjoying this series of different supernatural creatures and them finding love (sometimes in unconventional ways haha). I thought Rami was precious, the inexperience was endearing and I liked that Julian called them out on some of their naivety in a funny way. I thought the chemistry between the two was fabulous and I thought even if it was started off on a lie, it was genuine and blossomed beautifully between them. I felt for both of these characters for the loneliness they both...

This was a sweet love story. It had probably the very best take on Angels essentially being genderless I have ever herd of in books or tv. Both of the main characters POV are written so well and you really connect with each of their personalities. The spice is spicy! It doesn't happen until the last half of the book and that's a great thing in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love. Even though this story takes place over only a week, it goes into great detail to show the characters...

When angel Rami finds wounded demon, Julian on their doorstep, they hurry to help him. What follows is a cute back and forth between the two. A grumpy/sunshine your gonna eat up. They learn the lines between what's right and wrong are thinner than they thought and that, in love, support comes from the most unlikely of places. I love these types of feel good stories. )

Julian and Rami were so fun to read as a couple and I loved learning the lore about angels and demons in this world. I also appreciated the way religion was handled in this book as well. It was comforting since it paralleled some of my own experiences, but not in a traumatic way. )
