They say loss gets easier with time, but it was all a lie.
Loss eats away at your happiness until you are left a shell of your former self, wishing for the life you once had.
Escaping the darkness of my home was one thing, but leaving him behind was another.
It forced me to build an impenetrable wall, keeping everyone at arm's length to avoid the pain of losing someone else.
For years I mourned him, his existence all but wiped from the earth once I left. My regular searches coming up blank every single time.
Until fate decided to lure him from the shadows one night, crossing our paths in a way that would change the trajectory of my life forever.
The encounter pushed me into a world I knew nothing about. One filled with beings that are not supposed to exist, and secrets that could potentially ruin me.

I really liked this book. It came together really nicely. I didn't like how it was so short as I wanted more of them but aside from that I really liked it. I just learned of this author and I will definitely be checking out her other books! )

I could take this or leave it. It was a bit slow and kind of boring. I also wish the author used more contractions because dialogue and inner monologue felt stilted. )

Great story, good ending, is there a part two? I'd love to read further into their new lives together in hell lol )

Quick read, way too much trauma. The story took forever for them to be together and it should have focused more on that and less on her sadness and trauma. Also, there were so many plot holes and not enough smut. When she ran away and was found, why didn't she report Stanton? Did she ever get her trust? What happened after she was found on the road?? If Ryker died on the human plane, why didn't an obituary ever come up in her searches? This book was too short for what it was trying to...
