Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

Ruger Raines has spent years managing his rockstar brother’s career, but now he’s ready to trade the bright lights and endless parties for something quieter. So, when he’s offered a position as Blackhaven Manor’s new event coordinator, it feels like the perfect fit.
Too bad nothing goes according to plan.
Breaking an irreplaceable statue on his first day doesn’t exactly scream competency—especially when that statue turns out to be a cursed demon with an ancient grudge.
After centuries trapped in stone and darkness, Luka Gregori wakes to a world nothing like the one he remembers. He doesn’t know where he is, when it is, or why he can’t stop growling at the shifter who set him free. All he knows is that Ruger makes sense when nothing else does.
But curses don’t just vanish, and when past and present collide, threatening a future he never dared to hope for, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his new mate.
Even if that means becoming the monster everyone already thinks he is.

M/M Explicit. Another cute, fun, quick read in the series. The segments of getting Luka current on slang were fun and not overdone. The curse subplot added just enough drama. I liked the twist in both who set the curse and how to break it. A worthwhile way to spend an hour. )

A cute short story that warms the heart. With cozy vibes, instant love, fated mates, curses, and more the story was a perfect lunch time or bedtime read to put a smile on your face. ) One person found this helpful

I love this series but this story seemed somewhat more enderIng something about a centuries old gargoyle finding his mate by accident while encased in stone!!!! Oh and both are smoking hot!!! Thank you - Lori )

Although I didn’t realize it was a short story when I started reading it. I hope there will be more of this series to come? )

This story is only 80 pages so go into it knowing that there isn’t going to be a ton of backstory or relationship/character development. The story is an entertaining, quick read. We get to see a couple of the past characters. A couple more are introduced (setting up subsequent books maybe?). It’s a nice dip back into this universe and worth the read. Also works fine as a standalone but Skye’s role won’t make as much sense without some of the backstory from the other books. )
