The author says this is her first monster book and after reading numerous books about monsters, I am not surprised. Told from all POV, the story is pretty basic. The world building is good and the characters are interesting but very simple. There’s no back story of the monsters and they mate for life by just saying that they claim them? I kept hoping for more. I am going to read the second book and hope for the best. )
