Trouble has a persistent way of finding Rhea, and in Gallows Gate, it usually comes with a side of dark magic. As a fledgling witch struggling to balance her newfound powers with the crushing weight of a probationary badge from the Merlin Group, she is quickly learning that survival is a full-time job. With the Council watching her every move and a troublesome ghost refusing to respect personal boundaries, Rhea is pushed into a dangerous investigation that threatens to expose secrets she has spent a lifetime burying.
This witty paranormal mystery perfectly blends high-stakes tension with the warmth of a burgeoning found-family. As Rhea navigates the treacherous supernatural underbelly of her town, she discovers that her greatest challenge isn't just the dark magic leaking through the veil, but accepting her own worth amidst a curse that makes her feel like a perpetual outsider.
For fans of fast-paced witchy tales, this installment delivers a satisfying mix of humor, drama, and light romance. It is an addictive, unputdownable read that keeps you guessing until the final page. Whether you are rooting for Rhea to finally overcome her self-doubt or simply craving a magical mystery to get lost in, this series is a must-read for your next obsession.

The first two books start out with Rhea putting herself down almost loathing who she is. Hopefully that won’t continue In book 3. The part that frustrates me the most is the curse she has. It’s mentioned non stop but never really clear who or what gave it to her family. Sure there are references to how some go mad or others die even a past evil relative but what is the true meaning, purpose. In Rhea’s case it gave her power. Then there is the offer from her Aunt to help her deal with it that...

Rhea finds a young troll girl murdered in the court house, and the death signature is Arcane magic. Framed, but Brinna's blood tells how she died, not who, and shows a magical engine. To clear her name, she needs her friends, Marla, Selene, and Eryk. Morty holds her together with coffee and information others don't know. Can she stay sane long enough or will the curse win? ) One person found this helpful
