Bespelled (Standard Edition) (The Bewitched Series, 2)

by Hazel Beck
Ellowyn Good is a half-witch with a problem that makes social interaction a nightmare: a curse that forces her to speak the absolute truth. As an outsider in the Riverwood coven, she has spent years keeping her distance to protect her heart. But when the malevolent Joywood rulers set their sights on her, Ellowyn realizes her secrets are worth killing for. To survive, she must rely on her found family and, most inconveniently, her former flame, Zander.
This witchy rom-com masterfully balances high-stakes magical tension with a simmering enemies-to-lovers dynamic. As the Joywood closes in, Ellowyn and Zander are forced to confront the wreckage of their past. Their second-chance romance is complicated by new, life-altering surprises that make their rekindled connection feel both urgent and deeply vulnerable. It is a slow-burn journey of trust, growth, and the courage to stop lying to oneself.
Perfect for fans of cozy paranormal reads, this installment is widely considered the highlight of the series. With its witty dialogue, profound emotional depth, and a dash of coven-life drama, it delivers a satisfying conclusion to the current arc. If you are craving a magical escape filled with heart, humor, and undeniable chemistry, this is your next obsession.

I’ve enjoyed this whole series but this one the most. The writing is profound and funny and relatable and moves along well. This story focuses on our tortured ex-couple, Ellowyn and Zander, their attempts at getting along, and the Joywood being their usual slimy selves. I really love both sides of this couple and some of the side characters that get introduced. This series is about family (both biological and the found kind), loving and being there for each other, and the challenges in doing...

The Withlore series is getting better and better! This series is cozy, warm, fun, light… and this newest addition to the series is all of those things. Ellowyn was such a fun FMC to follow and her story felt incredibly emotional and tender. Her family of Zander, her friends (real and ghost!), and her sisters being developed while she was pregnant felt really poignant and delicate. I also found this book to have a really empowering message. So far, all of the Hazel Beck books in the Witchlore...

After reading the first book in this series, I decided to unhaul the whole series. The FMC of the first book wasn’t for me, and the side characters, though more likeable, also ground on my nerves as they consistently made excuses for her bad behavior. ) One person found this helpful

Interesting, although a bit difficult to read, with all the negativity from the FL and dragging inner monologue. Still the plot was interesting. )
