The Isle in the Silver Sea

by Tasha Suri

About this book

Bound by a cruel, recurring fate, a knight and a witch are trapped in an endless cycle of love and destruction. Across centuries of English folklore and shifting history, Simran, a powerful witch of the woods, and Vina, a steadfast knight of the Queen’s court, find themselves drawn together time and again. Their connection is as inevitable as it is catastrophic, for in every lifetime, their forbidden romance is destined to doom them both.

This enchanting standalone romantasy masterfully weaves sapphic longing with a complex, atmospheric magic system. As the pair navigates the lush, haunting backdrop of medieval England, they attempt to unravel the threads of their tragic history. When a mysterious assassin begins hunting those whose lives are tethered to magical tales, Simran and Vina must fight to forge a new path.

Perfect for readers who crave a slow-burn romance steeped in mystery, this story is a lyrical exploration of destiny versus agency. While the intricate layers of reincarnation and storytelling demand patience, the emotional payoff is profound. If you are searching for a paranormal romance that balances high-stakes stakes and heart-shattering intimacy, this tale of two souls fighting for a future beyond their written fate is your next obsession.

🗡️ Bookish Thoughts 💫💖 Simran and Vina forever💫💖 This was a beautifully written love story filled with magic and humor, heartbreak and hope. I was completely invested in Simran and Vina from the start. I really loved the whimsical worldbuilding and magic system of this world. At its heart, this is about a love that transcends time, one where they find each other again and again across every timeline. It is also a story about choice. About how we shape our destinies, what we are willing to...

Enjoyable but lifeless

The prose was mesmerizing and lush. I apreciate the imagery created by the author. I found the convoluted timelines to be confusing initially but it became a bit easier to follow as the story progressed. The only issue I encountered was with the books momentum. It did build towards the end but it was a bit sluggish throughout the book. It was a book I could put down without the yearning desire to jump right back in. I did enjoy it though I wish it had induced a bit more enthusiasum from the...

Complicated magic system that takes a bit to figure out

Thank you to Hachette Audio and Orbit for the ALC! I’m conflicted with this one. I enjoyed the magic system of reincarnation and stories, BUT as a reader, this was an extremely hard system to figure out and piece together with the hints they gave us. As pointed out in other reviews, since the magic system was so important in the plot and movement forward of the story, this made everything feel disjointed and made the pacing hard to keep up with. I enjoyed the characters, and the second half was...

Both a love letter to all kinds of tales and a treatise in how power structures will always try to control the narrative to perpetuate themselves. ) One person found this helpful
