Tamlin Ashowan is the reluctant heir to a prestigious dukedom, a man who prefers the quiet solitude of his library to the demands of his powerful family. As the son of a legendary hero, Tam is expected to shine, yet he hides a volatile secret: a mysterious, uncontrollable magic he refuses to acknowledge. Desperate to keep his distance from his own power, he finds his carefully constructed life upended when he is thrust into a high-stakes mission in the unstable kingdom of Zinfera.
To survive, Tam is forced into an uneasy alliance with a new assistant who harbors just as many secrets as he does. This forced-proximity setup ignites a slow-burn romance that is as tense as it is magnetic. As the geopolitical landscape of Zinfera crumbles into chaos, Tam must decide if he can continue to suppress his abilities or if he is finally ready to embrace the dangerous truth of his lineage.
Perfect for fans of paranormal romance, this charming entry into the expanded world of The House Witch series blends royal intrigue with a unique magical journey. Whether you are a long-time reader of the author or a newcomer looking for your next obsession, Tam’s story offers a compelling mix of duty, discovery, and undeniable chemistry.

This is a book about a young witch with a power he has never heard of that he doesn’t understand and is unable to control. Raised by an extremely powerful family, he is sent off as a spy with a retainer, who also has secrets. Chaos ensues. This book has startlingly, well-made characters, excellent plot lines, a unique magical system, at least in terms of the magical powers, and a character and circumstance-driven plot. I highly recommend this author. And you can read this book without having...

I have thoroughly enjoyed ALL of Delemhach's books: The House Witch series, The Princess of Potential, and The Burning Witch series. I have been extremely excited to read The Ether Witch series! She really has a wonderful way with words, good character development, great dialogue, and exciting plot points. I consider myself a \"picky\" reader, as I only have a few authors that I can faithfully follow, Delemhach being one of them. The Ether Witch book 1 did not disappoint. I really enjoyed...

OK Tam may be my favorite Ashowen. I was NOT a fan of Kat at all. She was too much of a spoiled brat for me. Tam however is an adult used to having responsibility. And a much more interesting character! The whole book was better than any since the first series. There were some typos and editing mistakes but it was so well written and interesting that it wasn’t a big deal. Desperately waiting for more because that ending was to much of a cliffhanger for me! ) 3 people found this helpful

I adore Delemhach's work, the deep character building and world building really sets this author above most fantasy authors. The house witch world has the best combination of deeply real and emotional stories, interspersed with actual laugh out loud moments of pure chaotic comedy. These are the books I turn to when my heart hurts and I need a break from the cruel realities of our world. Tam's tale is a little bit darker than the rest, but no less potent for it. The twists and turns in this...

This 1st book was riveting. Tam has always been an enigma, at least through the Burning Wilooptch series. I'm glad he is becoming who he really is. The boatload of events and people is very encouraging for the rest of the books. )
