Emerson Wilde thinks she has it all: a thriving indie bookstore, a tight-knit found family, and the title of youngest Chamber of Commerce president in the history of St. Cyprian. Her life is perfectly ordinary until a brush with supernatural creatures forces her to incinerate them with a burst of raw, unexplainable power. Suddenly, the last decade of her life is revealed to be a carefully orchestrated lie. St. Cyprian is not just a quaint Midwestern town; it is a secret haven for witches, and Emerson is one of them.
Stripped of her memories years ago, Emerson must now scramble to reclaim her magic before an ancient evil lurking in the town’s shadows destroys everything she holds dear. She cannot do it alone, which means reconciling with her grumpy childhood friend and local farmer, Jacob North. As they navigate their complicated, slow-burn history, the sparks between them become as volatile as the spells Emerson is struggling to master.
Blending the cozy charm of a small-town witchy rom-com with the stakes of a gothic thriller, this enemies-to-lovers tale is a must-read for fans of paranormal romance. If you crave a story that balances witty banter, a dash of magic, and the warmth of deep-rooted connections, step into the enchanting world of St. Cyprian.

The magical world of St Cyprian is one readers will never want to leave. Small Town, Big Magic is an absolute triumph of a debut. Sparking with humor, romance, and thrillingly gothic danger, it had me hooked from the first page and kept me turning pages all night. Emerson is a glorious heroine and Jacob is her perfect match in every way—a gorgeous, perfect romance hero who compliments and adores the strength in his heroine. In this first book in the new Witchlore series, Hazel Beck has created...

I read this as an editor's pick from Kindle and it was Kindle Unlimited. I thought the overall story was good. There was a lot of inner monologue which was too much at times. The women's empowerment messaging was positive but sometimes over the top and changed my perception of the scene. I felt it was a little preachy. I read a lot of paranormal stories. The main character was likeable as her story showed her evolution to embrace her full identity. I liked her trust of her friends and their...

This is a must read for any fans of magic, romance, and mystery all in one. The main character may be a bit overzealous but it is amazing that the author used it to the advantage of the story. We need female characters with some independence and resilience. ) One person found this helpful

This witchy book began with the common trope of the heroine not knowing she was a witch and a bit of a YA Hallmark vibe. Happily, the characters and mythology of the story begin to develop nicely and become more fun. The main character is not immediately likable, but as you learn more about her, you grow to understand her. I just began the sequel which is told (so far) from her sister’s point of view. I look forward to seeing more of this world unfold. Promising. ) 5 people found this helpful
