Seventeen years after a tragic fire destroyed her family and forced her into hiding, Judeth Cole—now living as the struggling Jude Clark in Seattle—is ready to give up on life. But a chance discovery in a dusty bookstore changes everything. Tucked inside an old spine, a cryptic invitation pulls her into a clandestine circle of witches led by the dangerous and enigmatic Arla. Jude soon learns that their power is tethered to a trapped entity known as The Fathom, and Arla is prepared to commit murder to claim its dark, boundless energy for herself.
Forced to confront the magic she has spent a lifetime suppressing, Jude finds an unlikely ally in Levi, the handsome local bookseller who has witnessed her at her lowest and still chooses to stay. Their journey is a pulse-pounding race against time that demands they return to Solidago, the decaying coastal estate where Jude’s trauma began.
This lush, atmospheric paranormal romance expertly weaves gothic dread with the warmth of a found-family dynamic. As Jude and Levi navigate a web of ancient secrets, they must reconcile their past to survive a future defined by betrayal. If you crave a spellbinding tale of second-chance love and high-stakes magic, this haunting story will grip you from the very first page.

Ava Morgyn has a gift for sewing magic into the seams of a story so seamlessly you don’t realize you’ve been wrapped in it until you’re already too deep. The atmosphere is gothic and eerie and lush and sea soaked and it lingers but in the best way. But what really got me was the heart of it. Beneath all the witchcraft and mystery, this book is doing something powerful … exploring trauma, generational wounds, and the kind of rage that lives in women who have been silenced too long. Feminine rage...

I often find myself drawn to unusual books, especially those with intriguing covers! When I spotted the Space Needle, I knew I had to dive in because I recently lived near Seattle, WA. Rebecca's story unfolds in a dark novel where she must rediscover her powers while evading a deadly adversary. Judeth Cole, living under the oppressive rule of her grandfather at Solidago, ignites her magic, leading to a tragic family loss. Seventeen years later, as Jude Clark in Seattle, she stumbles into a...

I love Ava Morgyn's books, and I \"ate\" this one so quickly, I am reading it again slowly and carefully to savor the intricate exquisite details. The suspense kept me up late at night, and it's Seattle setting - a place I lived for almost 20 years - felt like coming home. I reveled in the delicious witchy-ness - witnessing the main character dig into her buried abilities. I won't give away any more details. You really need to read it yourself! Five stars! )

Thank you St. Martin's Griffin & SMP Early Readers for the gifted review copy! This one had all the ingredients for a compelling dark fantasy with witchcraft, a dangerous coven, and a mysterious monster, but it didn't quite come together in the way I'd hoped. The atmosphere is definitely a strong point. There's a moody, almost haunting quality to the story, especially as Jude is pulled back into a past she tried to escape. The concept of the magic system and the looming threat behind it are...

What a ride! After severe trauma from her childhood (and I do mean severe so check the trigger warnings), Jude chose to cocoon her powers inside and live life in a daze, never really checking in. When a horrible event (another trigger warning) disrupts what little stability she managed to eke out, Jude is thrown right back into her past where nightmares and monsters thrive. Will she fall for the siren song of another magic user or will she finally accept who she is and fight for her future? The...
