Teal Flores has spent her life being defined by the storm clouds that gather whenever her emotions spike. Gifted with volatile elemental magic that she struggles to control, she is desperate to find her long-lost mother and finally gain mastery over her power. When she finds herself needing a plus-one to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding, she strikes a bargain with the charismatic and persistent Carter Velasquez.
Carter has his own motivations for the union; he must be married by thirty to secure a crucial inheritance from his traditional grandmother. What begins as a convenient arrangement of convenience quickly spirals into a high-stakes game of pretend. Living together forces them into close quarters, where the sparks between them become literal, causing lightning to crackle whenever the tension rises.
This second installment in the series masterfully weaves lush, natural imagery into a compelling paranormal romance. As Teal and Carter embark on a quest to uncover family secrets, they find that their connection is stronger than any tempest. If you enjoy stories featuring simmering arranged-marriage tropes, forbidden magic, and emotional healing, this electric journey is the perfect addition to your bookshelf. Dive into a world where love is the only force capable of weathering the storm.

I liked the book. I don't know why but it was a difficult read for me. I think because I wasn't the biggest fan of Teal after the first book. )

I enjoyed the first book in this series and tore into this one. This writer is a master of using natural imagery. I love the romance in this book as much as the 1st one. The sister bond and the repairing of familial bonds makes this series extremely special )

Teal is angry at the world and herself and it stems from something that was taken from her long ago. Many people may get the wrong idea about Teal, but stick with her - she's worth it. This book captivated me even before I finished...

This book was weirdly cozy for me. It referenced some serious topics without getting too deep. Like just enough to satisfy the story without making it too heavy. )
