In the Shadow Garden

by Liz Parker

About this book

Deep in the lush, rolling hills of Yarrow, Kentucky, the Haywood women cultivate a garden where the produce tastes like magic and the soil holds secrets as deep as the roots of their family legacy. As empathic witches, they use their botanical gifts to soothe the town’s heartaches, even infusing the local bourbon with the power to erase a painful memory once a year. But this idyllic facade hides a fractured history defined by a bitter, decades-long feud with the neighboring Bonner clan.

Twenty years ago, a tragedy tore the town apart, leaving behind a summer of missing memories, an unsolved disappearance, and a death that remains shrouded in mystery. When the truth begins to claw its way to the surface, the past collides with the present. Forced into an uneasy reckoning, the Haywoods must confront the ghosts of their history and the rival family they once trusted.

For fans of atmospheric paranormal romance, this story weaves a spell of Southern charm and quiet intensity. It is a luminous tale of second-chance love and ancestral power, perfect for those who crave a cozy, witchy mystery that explores the thin line between healing a broken heart and burying the truth forever.

Filled with Southern Charm and Whimsy

November 5, 2024

Perfect for readers who want a cozy, witchy read that doesn't veer too deeply into the dark side, but has wonderful themes of family legacy, secrets, and plant-based witchery reminiscent of Practical Magic. The Haywoods and Bonners have been rivals and reluctant business partners in their small Kentucky town--Yarrow--for generations. The Haywood women read tea leaves and maintain The Shadow Garden, an enchanted plot of land where they fertilize the soil with their patrons' unwanted heartaches...

Take me to the Shadow Garden

I don’t know if it’s possible for me to properly express how much I loved this book in one review, but I’m going to try! This book was the answer to a question I didn’t realize I was asking. I took a day off work so I could finish this book in one sitting — it was that good! Things I loved: - All the characters (even the “bad ones”). To say they’re well written is an understatement. Too often you’ll see books with a plethora of minor characters that really do nothing for the plot, that’s not...

A good read

I was worried thus book wouldn't be that good after reading may great \"touch of magic\" books. But I was wrong. it's a great little story well worth a read. The only reason I gave it 3 stars and not 4 (5 are kept for books I'd re-read) is because I kept getting a few characters mixed up. I feel like if they were referenced differently or given a little more story I'd be able to remember them better. But that shouldn't keep you from reading this book. It didn't keep me from loving it. ) One...
