Life in Myrtlewood is never quiet, but for Rosemary Thorn and her daughter, Athena, the stakes have officially hit a boiling point. Balancing the chaotic demands of a supernatural town requires more than just a well-brewed cup of tea. While Athena navigates the pressures of school and the weight of organizing the Imbolc ritual, a ravenous, ancient darkness stirs in the forest, threatening to unravel the fragile peace of their home.
This ninth installment of the beloved witchy series leans heavily into the found-family trope that has made the Myrtlewood Mysteries a genre favorite. As vampire politics collide with fae realm mischief and the whims of grumpy deities, Rosemary and Athena are forced to confront their own vulnerabilities. It is a heartfelt exploration of the mother-daughter bond, proving that even when you are facing down world-ending threats, having your chosen family by your side makes all the difference.
If you are hunting for a paranormal read that balances high-stakes magic with the cozy, witty charm of Gilmore Girls, this is your next obsession. It is a fast-paced, humorous, and deeply human adventure where the most potent spells are cast through resilience, connection, and perhaps the occasional cocktail.

Loved this book and didn't want it to end. So many parallels to life's journey with real, flawed, and warm characters that invite you in. Before you know it, you have a cup of tea, a scone and are part of the family. Thank you Iris. Bright Blessings on all of your writings! )

In this story, Athena is attempting to handle school, her growing magic and a recent heartbreak. Rosemary is focused on her role in Myrtlewood along with a new beau, Burk whom is a now, um, sparkling vampire. The vampire council is determined to find out how Rosemary's magic could turn Burk into a daywalker and insist on performing tests on Rosemary to find answers. Athena gets some...

I enjoyed reading this book, actually the whole series was fantastic! This series was good in the beginning, had enough mystery and intriguing characters that made me want to read the next episode. The series never let me down. Each book is great. And there is a lot of wisdom included, especially on how to deal with the shadows in all our minds. Read them all! ) One person found this helpful

I love this series. It needs some proofreading and an editor, but the storytelling is wonderful. The world created by this author takes on a life of its own with each book. It becomes a warm place where you learn about yourself as each character takes on more depth and becomes more fully alive. ) One person found this helpful
