Azrael Ashmedai Hart is having a rough year. Between a failed screenwriting career and the sudden death of his parents, he finds himself retreating to his haunting family manor in the mist-shrouded town of Hallowcross. He is a witch twice named for the devil, but his biggest problem isn't his lineage—it is his childhood crush, Victoria Starnberger, who has unexpectedly moved into his family’s old tea shop.
Vickie is hiding dangerous secrets of her own. Gifted with the ability to summon the dead through the destruction of cherished objects, she has unwittingly bartered her soul to a lesser devil. Now, she and Azrael are caught in a web of necromancy and dark romance as their parents’ spirits deliver frantic warnings of a sinister threat looming over Hallowcross. To make matters worse, a cruel curse prevents the pair from touching, turning their reunion into a high-stakes game of proximity and longing.
For readers craving a paranormal romance that blends cozy small-town charm with academy-level stakes, this story is a must-read. It is a witty, lyrical exploration of fate, forbidden chemistry, and the magic of second chances. Will they defeat the darkness before the curse claims them both?

But she has a special talent, she can talk to the dead if she’s holding an artifact that they truly loved. All of this due to her parents making a...

The magic and curses were very much more modern than what I was expecting, but it was done so well and very easy to follow. AND THE ANGST! It built up the tension to an inferno between the two. Amazing bit of romance and ending in my opinion. If you have the chance the audiobook is amazing as well. I’d give the narration a 5/5, and the...
