Always Practice Safe Hex: Stay a Spell, Book 4

by Juliette Cross

About this book

Livvy Savoie is a witch whose natural charm and gift of persuasion make her the life of every party. However, her easygoing world is upended when she is forced into a high-stakes public relations contest alongside Gareth Blackwater. Gareth is a broody, stoic grim reaper who is convinced that the intense, undeniable attraction crackling between them is nothing more than one of Livvy’s magical manipulations.

Forced proximity quickly turns their professional rivalry into a simmering game of cat and mouse. As they are thrust together to compete, the walls between them begin to crumble, revealing that their connection is far deeper than simple irritation. Beneath Gareth’s cold exterior lies a protective power that defies explanation, a force he is more than willing to unleash when a dangerous warlock sets his sights on Livvy.

If you are looking for a paranormal romance that balances high-stakes supernatural tension with a scorching enemies-to-lovers arc, this installment of the Stay a Spell series is essential reading. It is a masterclass in emotional depth and magnetic chemistry that will leave you breathless. Dive into this world where magic is real, the stakes are life-or-death, and the love stories are truly soul-stirring.

This series just keeps getting better

I loved, loved witnessing Gareth and Lavinia get to their HEA and thwart another evil doer. Their rivals to lovers tale is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. The well crafted words in this delicious story evoked all the feels for me. Expect to laugh, cry, gasp, cheer, grind your teeth, and swoon while reading, especially witnessing Livvy and her love help to heal Gareth’s scars. The story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging...

Holy Grim this was HOT!

I went crazy this weekend and decided to finish these last 4 books! So alll the reviews are on the way. I didn't realize how much I wanted a Gareth and Livvy situation in my life until I read this. We were teased at the end of book 3 about them being kind of enemies to lovers but then got the image that Gareth had of Livvy in his bed TIED UP! I loved how quickly their romance and more developed. I loved how going into it Gareth had a clue what Livvy meant to him but didn't want to recognize it...

I have loved every book in this series, but this is by far my favorite!

**I was gifted an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.** Hearing Jen from The Book Refuge say that the last bit of this book made her cry should have clued me in... but So. Many. Emotions. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. This is the fourth book in Juliette Cross' STAY A SPELL series and is Livvy's story with her Grim hero, Gareth Blackwater. (We met him in Violet's book, Witches Get Stitches , and got a little preview of the tension between these two.) Now, if you've followed...

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!

Holy. Hot. Grim. I just knew Gareth Blackwater was going to rock my world. To say I was excited to read Gareth’s story is quite the understatement. So dark, so mysterious, and so very delicious. The protectiveness and fierceness and intensity of this sexy grim made all my things zing with happiness. I needed, wanted, craved his story. In true Juliette fashion, this was a well-written story full of characters who are smart, strong, sexy, and so dang lovable. And it was full of passion and love...

Liked, not loved it

July 1, 2022

Iwas waiting for Gareth and Livvy's story because I liked Gareth, but this book felt something like a ping pong game. Livvy was so sure of herself I found her annoying me. Gareth is a very dominant grim. First Livvy hated him, then she kinda like him, then she hated him again, then she was in love with him. Hmm. The Gareth turned into a lovesick teen. I found myself a little confused. The competition was fun, and fortunately, Gareth's darker side came to play and saved the day. We learned more...
