One ordinary night, a waitress goes from serving drinks to running for her life after a fateful encounter with a murderous werewolf. Suddenly thrust into a hidden world of magic, demons, and shifters, she discovers that her mundane existence was merely a facade. Now, she is being hunted by a ruthless cult of rogues, and her only hope for survival lies with the one man she should never trust.
Enter Jaxson Laurent, the powerful alpha of the Chicago pack and a sworn enemy of her family. As they are forced into an uneasy alliance, the tension between them crackles with a dangerous, slow-burn heat that threatens to consume them both. Every touch feels like a collision of souls, yet their shared history makes intimacy a lethal gamble. This is a quintessential enemies-to-lovers tale where pack dynamics and shifting loyalties keep the stakes sky-high.
Fans of urban fantasy will find themselves hooked by this action-packed start to a thrilling four-part saga. Set in the expansive Dragon’s Gift universe, the story masterfully blends supernatural mystery with a gritty, found-family atmosphere. If you crave a kick-ass heroine, a brooding hero, and a world where every full moon brings a new threat, this paranormal romance is your next must-read addiction.

This series started me out on Veronica Douglas. This book is fantastic. I couldn’t put it down. If you enjoy fantasy with heat and a great story and well developed characters give this book some of your time. It will be well worth it!! )

Great: Multilayered plot and multidimensional characters. No erotica Overall, an engrossing read. Book one's story arc is wrapped up well, but also leaves us well aware there is a lot more to the story. One of the key plot elements—the deep emnity between shifters and witches—looks like it's going to be turned inside out and upside down. Should be fun to watch! Not so great: I subtracted one star because this \"not so great\" stuff could of been dialed back. It left a dark cloud behind, even...

This series doesn’t have a TON of world building, but the characters are put together pretty good, they’ve got depth, and each have their own personality. The FMC is a hot headed and bad to the bone…also, a little clueless. I liked it, read it in 2 days and am about to start book 2. I tend to get bored and give up on books so that’s saying something. Wolves, sorcerers, found family, a crazy cousin, magical carnivals and an old beast of a car that won’t die…. )

Where should I start? This book is the beginning and it was oh so much fun!! Savannah and Jaxon are where the story points revolve around. Savannah being a normal girl who works as a waitress in a small town and knows nothing but the normal. Jaxon being the alpha of a wolf pack and in charge. Until they collide. It’s full of action and mystery and entertainment and I KNOW it’s just the tiny scratched surface. I was partially clued in but also surprised at a lot of these events. I seriously am...

Sometimes it's so difficult to find a new series that moves at a decent pass without bypassing the world building and letting you connect with the characters . This book was a great balance of just this, with interesting characters and a plot that has me reaching for book number 2. This book is full of magic, werewolves, sorcery, witches, demons and more. With a strong female lead character who comes across as intelligent though pretty rough around the edges. I love the steamy build up of the...
