A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Mercy Thompson Hauptman is no stranger to danger, but when her brother Gary arrives cursed and desperate, the stakes shift from local pack politics to a fight for survival. Accompanied by her mate, Adam, the alpha of the Columbia Basin Pack, Mercy journeys into the frozen wilds of Montana. What begins as a rescue mission quickly spirals into a claustrophobic nightmare when they are trapped in a remote lodge by a supernatural storm of legendary proportions.
This fourteenth installment of the iconic urban fantasy series masterfully blends high-stakes action with the cozy, found-family dynamics that fans adore. As Mercy and Adam navigate the treacherous weather, they realize they have stumbled into an ancient, arcane conspiracy that threatens to unravel the world itself. The tension is palpable, yet the narrative retains the sharp wit and emotional depth that define this beloved series, offering a more uplifting conclusion than some of its darker predecessors.
If you crave immersive world-building, intricate pack dynamics, and a fierce, adaptable heroine, this is your next must-read. Whether you are a lifelong fan or a newcomer looking for a gripping paranormal romance, this captivating adventure proves that even in the deepest winter, the bonds of love and loyalty remain unbreakable.

Book 14 in the Mercy Thompson series, I do recommend reading the books in series order (along with the interconnected Alpha & Omega series) for the best experience, as there is a lot of history built up over the course of the series. At the very least, you should read Soul Taken before this, as events there have a direct impact on what’s happening with the main characters here. For my money, Patricia Briggs is one of the best writers out there, and I love the way she incorporates various...

With clever writing, smart characters, and a delicious plot filled with danger and mystery, WINTER LOST is a definite must-read and a true keeper. I can't wait to see what Patricia Briggs comes up with next! Patricia Briggs does it again, absolutely knocks it out of the park with this fourteenth volume in the Mercy Thompson series. Mercy has faced a lot of danger since mating Adam and joining the pack. It's not enough she's got the lord of all vampires making obscene phone calls while reminding...

4 stars - It was really good When Gary shows up cursed, Mercy and Adam head to Montana to try and figure out what happened and remove the curse. What they don’t expect is to find themself trapped with strangers in a lodge due to a winter storm powered by magic and trying to stop another end of the world crisis. Unlike the previous books in this series, this one isn’t focused on fae or vampire concerns and doesn’t involve the whole pack, only Adam and Mercy. Adam and Mercy travel to Montana and...

Spoiler free review. At first I was thrown by the novel approach to this book- Mercy's books have never switched perspective this much. But I quickly found myself loving getting to see into the heads of so many characters, both established and new, and enjoying how each interlude played with the dramatic tension. I loved the humor- it felt good to laugh after the last few books had sent the stakes in Mercy's world up so high. I loved the heartwarming parts, and getting to see so many different...

Once again, Patricia Briggs has blended urban fantasy, action, suspense, and a little romance into another fantastic novel. Winter Lost is the fourteenth book in the Mercy Thompson series. Mercy, a car mechanic and coyote shapeshifter, is now traveling with her mate, Adam Hauptman, the leader of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack. When Mercy needs to help her half-brother Gary in Montana, they find themselves trapped with strangers at the Looking Glass Hot Springs lodge. This isn't an ordinary...
