Gwenvael the Handsome is a dragon who thinks the world revolves around his rugged good looks and sheer magnificence. His family, however, remains unimpressed, forcing the vain shifter to trek into the frozen Northlands to broker a crucial alliance. He expects a terrifying monster, but instead, he encounters Dagmar Reinholdt—a woman known as The Beast, whose icy demeanor and utter lack of interest in his charms leave the dragon reeling.
This installment of the Dragon Kin series is a masterclass in the enemies-to-lovers trope. As the two clash, the narrative shifts from a battle of wits to a scorching display of chemistry. Dagmar is a formidable force in her own right, refusing to be intimidated by a dragon’s ego, while Gwenvael finds himself obsessed with uncovering the passion hidden beneath her prim, scholar-like exterior.
Fans of urban fantasy and dark romance will devour this tale of shifting loyalties and unpredictable desire. G.A. Aiken delivers a perfect blend of high-stakes action and laugh-out-loud banter that defines the series. If you are looking for a paranormal romance that balances brutal intensity with humor and heart, this addictive journey into the North is your next must-read obsession.

4.5-5 stars This was a great story and addition to the series. I have to admit that I was a bit leery of this story because...well, it's about Gwenvael. But surprisingly, I enjoyed this story so very much. Dagmar is a rather plain woman that makes up for her looks with a very high intelligence. She's the only daughter of her father, the Reinholdt (aka a fearsome Warlord in the Northern territories). Dagmar is extremely skilled with animals, particularly canines, and she has total control over...

Absolutely, positively wonderful book. Very addictive, as I have read it at least 5 times by now. The series has a fabulous cast of characters who seamlessly suck you into their world. This particular installment contains a perfect mixture of action, humor, romance, suspense, sex, and tragedy, woven together with such skill that you physically cannot put the book down. G and D are fantastic characters, and even better together. The book literally made me laugh out loud at some parts and tear up...

Dagmar Reinholdt lives in the tundra-like northern hemisphere and has acquired the nickname Beast due to her ruthlessness...or at least that's what people from other hemispheres think. In actuality, it was a tongue-in-cheek nickname given to Dagmar by her family that just happened to stick. So, when Gwenvael, a dragon shifter from the southern hemisphere, arrives on the Reinholdt doorstep to meet the Beast for negotiations he immediately falls into hysterical laughter at being confronted with a...

What a Dragon Should Know G. A. Aiken If you are following the Dragon Kin series, this is book #3, the story of Gwenvael the Handsome and his human mate, Dagmar `The Beast' Reinholt. A delightful tale full of laughter and plots, to quote Ms. Aiken, \"To keep a two hundred year old dragon entertained for another six hundred years when most dragons were spent plotting and planning `shenanigans and `hijinks,' I needed a heroine who absolutely lived for `shenanigans' and `hijinks.'\" And she...

The Northlanders have sent a message that there is a way known to save Annwyl and the child she carries. In order to get the information, Gwenvael the Handsome is sent to broker a peace agreement between Annwyl and the Northlanders. Entrusted with this important mission, he journeys to the Northlander stronghold where he must face a creature named the Beast. Dagmar Reinholt isn't like most women. She doesn't spend her time doing needlework, or quietly gossiping with other women. Her diminutive...
