Vampire, Interrupted: An Argeneau Novel

by Lynsay Sands

About this book

After seven centuries of playing the dutiful wife and mother, Marguerite Argeneau is finally reclaiming her autonomy. With her children settled and her past behind her, she embarks on a bold new career as a private investigator. But her very first case quickly spirals from a simple search mission into a deadly mystery when she finds herself staring down the business end of a sword. Suddenly, the woman who spent an eternity playing it safe is fighting for her survival in a world of hidden dangers.

Enter the enigmatic Julius Notte, an immortal who knows exactly what Marguerite is to him: his fated lifemate. While he is determined to sweep her off her feet with old-fashioned courtship, he first has to ensure she stays alive long enough to accept his proposal. As they navigate a high-stakes urban fantasy landscape, Julius must balance his protective instincts with the delicate task of winning a woman who has only just begun to taste true freedom.

Blending the thrill of an academy-style investigation with the intense chemistry of a paranormal romance, this story is a fan-favorite for a reason. It is a witty, action-packed journey that proves it is never too late to start living, or to find the love of an eternity.

Vampire, Interrupted

Marguerite Argeneau is finally having the chance to live her life as she wants - her controlling husband is dead and all four of her children all nicely paired off. So when the opportunity presents itself Marguerite embarks on a career - being a PI doesn't seem to be that hard and it certainly looks like fun. But as Marguerite embarks on her very first case she has to deal with attempts on her life, muggings, mind control and sabotage - and that doesn't even include all the surprises she gets...

Just gotta love those Argeneau Vampires!!

This was one of the best in the series so far in my humble opinion. I have enjoyed like crazy the meddling of Marguerite in her family's personal business. She is one rockin' mama, who oozes love for her family. I am so happy she has found her lifemate so she can also enjoy what all her children are enjoying. I am saddened however by the means in which she had to get there, seems so unfair for such a pleasantly likable woman. I guess we can't all have it easy, but the cruelness suffered was...

Best book in series

I have to say that I was highly disappointed in the Vampires are Forever book but this one redeemed the series. This was probably my favorite of all. I understand what she put it in the front of the book, but I was still completely blown away when it came out that she was his mom. I thought maybe there was an editing error in the front that put Christian under her name instead of Julius's but it still didn't ruin the story. And the way it all happened with her being his missing lifemate was...

Good, but the dumb mistakes are annoying

February 29, 2008

First off, if you're going to go to the trouble of writing a book that has a pretty important mystery at its core, don't reveal the answer to that mystery in the family tree right at the front of the book. I mean, how stupid can you be to do that? That aside, this book is the best one. It actually has a plot and a good one, too. The writing and the dialog are miles better than usual, although the stupid mistakes, like revealing important plot points before you even get to page 1 and Lynsay...
