Bernie just wants to hide away in a secluded coastal town with her sour-tempered cat and a lighthouse that might be harboring more than just dust bunnies. After a devastating heartbreak, she is looking for peace, but she finds danger instead. Someone is hunting her, and the quiet life she craved is quickly unraveling into a high-stakes mystery that forces her out of isolation and into the arms of the town’s most formidable protector.
Enter Tor, a burly, grumpy bear shifter whose protective instincts are as massive as his heart. He has spent his life managing his chaotic family, but he has always longed for a mate to share his den. From the moment he crosses paths with Bernie, the fated-mates pull is undeniable. Despite his gruff exterior and her guarded heart, the sparks between them are immediate, turning their encounter into a slow-burn collision of wills and passion.
This spicy paranormal romance perfectly blends small-town charm with a thrilling supernatural twist. Whether you are looking for a grumpy-sunshine dynamic or a mystery that keeps you guessing, this story delivers. It is a heartfelt, humorous, and steamy escape that proves even the most shattered hearts can find a home.

I saw the length of this story and thought that this was going to be a fairly uneventful story as far as shifter stories went. But two things were introduced into this story and one of them was the twist that made this a much more interesting story than what I was expecting. No, I’m not going to tell you what that is, but I will give you something. The cat. Nice little story that is thrilling and sweet. I was going to say something about my first impression of the female MC but once I reminded...

This story was so interesting and different. It had a bit of everything like family drama, shifters, mystery, and romance. Like I said highly entertaining. )

A great read for anyone else who's ever wanted to buy a lighthouse in the boonies and likes to read mysteries. The romance was sweet and the side characters were really entertaining - tbh I enjoyed some of that drama more than the romance. All the tropes you expect from the author with subtle tie-ins to her other series. ) One person found this helpful

A spin-off from the Stone Shifters series, while you can easily read this on its own, there is some crossover, especially with Stonewing Guardian, so reading that first will give you additional background on Tor and his family and friends. A very enjoyable story, with great characters and plenty of humor and suspense, with a couple of real surprises here for me. I would note that like many of the series by this author, there are some underlying plot lines that (I expect) will go through the...
