The Wolf King

by Lauren Palphreyman

About this book

Princess Aurora is trapped in a gilded cage, counting down the hours until a loveless political marriage seals her fate. Her life takes a jagged turn when an act of mercy at a brutal werewolf fight catches the attention of a ruthless, powerful alpha. Instead of a wedding feast, Aurora finds herself abducted and dragged into the rugged, untamed lands of the north, becoming a pawn in a brewing war between humans and the shifting clans.

This explosive start launches a dark romance that crackles with forbidden tension. As Aurora navigates the treacherous politics of a werewolf society uniting for battle, the lines between captor and ally blur. Forced to survive among enemies, she discovers a found-family dynamic that challenges everything she was taught about the monsters living beyond the border. With the fate of two species hanging in the balance, she must decide if her heart belongs to the crown she left behind or the alpha who stole her away.

Perfect for fans of high-stakes romantasy, this shifter series delivers a fast-paced, addictive narrative that keeps readers up until the early hours. It is an intense, emotional journey filled with complex characters and undeniable chemistry. If you crave stories where royal duty collides with primal passion, this is your next obsession.

Reader Reviews

fast paced, intensely plotted, and a super read!

First of all, I finished this book in the wee hours of the morning and I will say right now that it was worth losing sleep. The only problem was getting to the final page and saying, wait, what? It can't end here! I had convinced myself that this was it for the characters and hated to think that I would not learn more about them. Of course, I was too tired, it was pushing 4 am and I should have read a bit longer into the info about the author's upcoming book which said... Part two is coming.So,...

Engaging story

Audiobook 4/4 ⭐️ Story 4/4 ⭐️ The Wolf King delivers a surprisingly emotional and deeply engaging story, blending an intriguing storyline with complex, well-developed characters. The emotional depth really elevates the book, making the relationships feel meaningful rather than just entertaining. The dynamic between the leads is a highlight. MMC Callum is sweet as sugar—steady, thoughtful, and impossible not to love—while the bratty FMC Aurora brings sharp edges, humor, and tension that make...

Werewolves in Kilts = Sign Me Up

This author had to put special magic and craving dust into this story as I could not put it down. I loved this story so much and the characters were just as fabulous. This was such a unique story that I found myself captivated from the very first page, I was hooked. I loved the setting and the idea of werewolves in kilts. Aurora was a fabulous FMC that has been stuck playing the role of lady in the hopes her father would notice her. But beyond that, she has continued living and when the chance...

Scottish wolves, say less

4.5⭐️ - This was so entertaining! I followed along with the audio, I loved the audio for this one. This is a book I could’ve read in one sitting, but alas can’t with kids. I loved the characters, the world, the plot, and while I did predict some small twists, there were others I did not see. Our main characters had so much tension and banter. I spent 80% of this book smiling like an idiot. I was kicking my feet and giggling half the time. I loved the Scottish vibes from Callum. He was giving...
