Cozy, Sweet, and Spicy

This is my first Kass O'Shire book and it won't be my last. For something with high stakes and traumatic experiences, this still managed to be cozy and oh so sweet. Yes, there's spice, but the story and relationship are the driving factors. The spice is just the icing on top. 100% would fall in love with Aegir. )

Another fantastic installment in Kass O’Shire’s Shades of Sanctuary universe. While this book stands alone, the narrator is Sirin from Book 1, A Polar Expedition, which features more worldbuilding and introduces the series' unique storytelling style, like footnotes. While I find the footnotes spark a lot of joy, O’Shire’s author notes make it clear that if they’re not your thing, you can skip them without missing essential information. I am new to this realm of reading, so I was a bit weary starting this one as a newbie of a shifter romance. But I liked it!
