Gwen O'Neill is a lion-tiger hybrid who has spent her entire life navigating the gritty streets of Philadelphia while managing her chaotic, larger-than-life family. As a fierce shifter, she is used to being the protector, not the protected. However, her world tilts on its axis when she meets Lachlan MacRyrie, a massive, sweet-natured grizzly shifter who hails from the suburbs of New Jersey. While Gwen is accustomed to men who fear her, Lock is a gentle giant who finds her lethal grace and sharp wit completely irresistible.
This fourth installment of the Pride series is a masterclass in urban fantasy, blending high-stakes action with the kind of laugh-out-loud humor that has become a hallmark of Shelly Laurenston’s writing. The dynamic between the independent, kick-ass feline and the protective, hulking bear creates a sizzling chemistry that defines the best of the shifter romance genre. It is an exploration of whether a cat who refuses to settle down can find a forever with a man who is more than happy to provide it.
If you are looking for a paranormal romance that feels like a collision between Animal Planet and a fast-paced mob drama, look no further. With witty banter, intense pack politics, and plenty of heart, this is a must-read for any fan of the genre.

Why you should treat yourself to a Shelly Laurenston para-normal novel – (beginning with the 1st in the series): Character Development: The author does such an unbelievable job of blending the animal behavior in so well with the human side thus creating characters that are so realistic for a paranormal story that it is so easy to suspend belief and actually see the characters in your mind. The wolf shifters behave like wolves, the feline shifters do not act like lap cats, and bears lumber....

`The Mane Squeeze' is the fourth book in Shelly Laurenston's `Pride' series. Gwen O'Neill is a ligon (tiger/lion hybrid) - she can turn her head 180°, go `house cat' on her enemies and generally take care of herself when anti-hybrid bullies want a piece. What Gwen hasn't quite mastered is her smothering family. Her promiscuous and hot-to-trot mother, `Roxy' O' Neill. Her half-brother, Mitchell Shaw and the half-brother of her half-brother, Brendan Shaw. All of these people who make up her...

I love a book that stands the test of time. Published in 2009 and it still reads relevant. Ms. Laurenston's dialogue practically lunges off the page with energy. Her characters are so funny, so brashy, so ballsy, just so over-the-top dramatic that I can't help but fall in love with them. The situations they find themselves in are classically funny, and no one backs down. Gwen and Lock were the perfect couple. I loved how laid back Lock was, how understated. And I loved how Ms. Laurenston...

Laurenston has done it again! This book was the best for almost everything. Lock and Gwen were just perfect for each other. Without a doubt Gwen is one of SL's most problematic females; talk about baggage! In fact Gwen is not even all that likable but then she is a product of her environment and when you take that into account, you realize that you have to love her as she is or not at all. All of the author's main female characters come with baggage (such as Sara from \"Pack Challenge\" who is...

This is one of my favorites in this series. Gwen & Lock are such a great couple. He’s this big grizzly shifter and she’s a hybrid tiger/lion mix. They have great chemistry and get along so well. I love Lock! He’s hot, big, caring, smart and tough when needs. I really like Gwen’s relationship with her best friend, Blayne. Blayne’s book is next and it’s another great one. This is my 4th time reading this and it’s just as great. Lots of action and mystery of what’s happening to the hybrids and...
