Rosie is a scavenger living on the lowest rung of the Moon Lake pack hierarchy. When a fated mating bond pulls her toward the future alpha, Cadoc Collins, she dares to dream of something more. But in the brutal world of wolf-shifters, duty always outweighs desire. After a single night of passion, Cadoc publicly rejects her to appease his warring pack, leaving Rosie pregnant, disgraced, and desperate to protect her unborn child.
Determined to survive, Rosie embraces the scavenger’s greatest skill: disappearing. She chooses to leave the only home she has ever known, proving that her loyalty to her found-family is stronger than any alpha’s command. Meanwhile, Cadoc soon realizes that his political maneuvering has cost him far more than he anticipated. He banked on Rosie waiting for him, but he underestimated the resilience of the woman he discarded.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully explores complex pack dynamics and the high stakes of shifter society. Cate C. Wells delivers an emotionally charged story filled with angst, heartbreak, and eventual redemption. If you are looking for a captivating read where a fierce heroine turns the tables on a powerful heir, this is the perfect addition to your shelf.

This was probably my favorite book in the series thus far. There is something so intriguing about a main character like Rosie, who is extremely impoverished but incredibly loyal to her family, friends, and their way of life, regardless of their struggles. Her resilience and fierce sense of identity make her a compelling protagonist. I found myself deeply invested in her journey, her relationships, and the unique challenges she faces. The author does an excellent job of capturing Rosie's spirit...

The Heir Apparent’s Rejected Mate captured me right from the start, I was caught up in the intensity of it all and couldn't stop reading. I loved learning about the pack's different dynamics and how that played into Rosie and Cadoc being together. This was a great story with an awesome build that kept me hooked! I really liked getting to know Rosie and Cadoc. I loved Rosie, got who she was, and what she believed in. I felt for her as she went through her change and was caught up in her emotion...

Loved this one so much. Had all the right amount of heartbreak, angst, thrill and somehow even funny. Definitely one of favorites. )

➤ What I liked ➞ While I can’t deny that Nia is an awesome friend, I have a serious soft spot for Bevan. He is such a simple-minded character but his loyalty and fierceness when it came to Rosie had a huge impact on my opinion of him. But it’s actually not only these two. I loved how the scavengers were all so supportive and loyal to each other. ➞ Abertha’s story. It was unexpected, which I really liked. ➤ What I didn't like ➞ I was not a fan of the pacing. The whole story dragged somehow....

The romance genre is utterly saturated with books with no depth or substance. This one however was absolutely incredible. Wells is one of the few authors who seemed to have complete buy-in with her own story, with greater themes and obvious investment. I applaud her for writing one of the few RNs that did not feel like a guilty pleasure in any form, but rather something I would gladly recommend to anyone. This book serves as a beautiful critique on society and what’s important. I loved the...
