About this book

Banished by the man she once loved, Jay-la fled the Blood Moon Pack to protect a secret that could change everything: she is a mother. Six years later, she has built a quiet, successful life as a human divorce lawyer, far from the suffocating politics of shifter society. She has traded pack dynamics for the safety of the human world, determined to keep her children hidden from the future Alpha and the Luna who would never let them survive.

But Nathan, now the Alpha, is finished playing games. When he sends a summons demanding her return, Jay-la defies him, sparking a dangerous game of cat and mouse. He is determined to drag her back to the pack, while she is prepared to fight for her autonomy. This gripping urban fantasy blends high-stakes pack drama with the intense tension of the fated-mates trope.

As the lines between the human world and the academy life she once knew blur, Jay-la must decide if she can ever truly outrun her destiny. For readers who crave found-family loyalty, fierce heroines, and enemies-to-lovers angst, this sequel delivers a pulse-pounding exploration of motherhood, betrayal, and the desperate struggle to choose your own path when the world demands your submission.

Sooooooo

September 27, 2023

Well it doesn't leave off where I'd prefer it too. I'm hoping she makes a 3rd book. I started reading or listening to it on audio in the Dreame app. I reckon I'm going to have to wait till it comes out on a hard copy. I will be purchasing the 1st book as well. ) One person found this helpful

Great books

Great but it should have been one book instead of 2. ) 5 people found this helpful

Not fully fleshed out.

May 23, 2025

The whole crush the beta had on her should have been removed or fleshed out. She makes it seem like something was going to happen to where the 3 of them need to talk it out then all of a sudden there is a barely there mention that he has a mate. )

The defiant Mate book 1 & 2

March 14, 2024

I love the narrator, but the female lead is giving me a headache. Very repetitive and immature. I do like the story line but it needs more substance other than repetitive thoughts over and over. I kept waiting for something else but it was just more of the same. ) 2 people found this helpful

Good story

February 3, 2024

It was a good story/series. However, it should have been a book 3 to close everything out. It left too many unanswered issues. Like what happened to Sophia, Ethan, and Stephen. Otherwise, good story. ) One person found this helpful
