The Cuddle Clause

by Roxie Ray

About this book

Maggie James is thirty-one, freshly dumped, and currently hitting rock bottom. After losing her home and business to an ex, she is desperate enough to answer a mysterious roommate ad. She expects a quiet living situation, but instead, she lands in the orbit of Roman Velasquez, a neurodivergent werewolf who demands rigid structure and has a very specific, legally binding cuddle clause in his lease.

Roman is a solitary wolf looking to avoid a forced political mating, so he blurts out a lie to his Alpha claiming Maggie is his partner. What begins as a convenient arrangement to dodge pack politics quickly spirals into a tangle of fake-mated bliss. As they settle into a rhythm of structured touch and emotional support, the grumpy-sunshine dynamic creates sparks that neither of them can ignore.

This delightful paranormal romance perfectly blends pack dynamics with the cozy warmth of a found-family story. It is a must-read for fans of reverse-harem tropes, fake dating with fangs, and character-driven narratives that prioritize emotional connection over trauma. If you are looking for a story filled with humor, supernatural stakes, and the perfect amount of cozy spice, prepare to curl up and fall for this unconventional pack.

This is a really cute story that is best read curled up on a couch with a cup of hot chocolate! Roman and Maggie takes you through all the emotions, but the side characters will have you laughing. I highly recommend Rosie Ray and ALL her stories!!!! )

Good writing

This is a very cute romance with a supernatural twist. 4 stars for the high quality of the writing. It made me laugh and the descriptives were just right. It brilliantly touched on the insecurities of the female character and the story did a marvelous job building the relationship between her and the male character. However, the consistant build up and break down of self worth for the female character was so repetative, made it feel like it was 100 pages too long. ) 2 people found this helpful

3.0 / 5.0

I am conflicted on this because it is good, I enjoyed the story and the characters, but I didn't get a sense of the romance for almost half of the book and the composition is chaotic. The neurodivergent representation is fantastic but some scenes are cut and pasted in weird places, making the pacing and flow strange. It really focused on miscommunication in a roundabout manner, and that's my least favorite plot device, so I had to slog through some of this really searching for the nuggets. The...

super cute and kept Me laughing

super cute and kept Me laughing. Loved how the story focused on the couple and everything else was in the side. Not ton of world building which I love. I get board with over explaining and long back stories. I have a toddler which leaves me easily distracted and I love how easy it was to get back into the story. )
