4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Minor spoilers ahead! There are many aspects to this book that I ADORED. Consent played a major factor. The MMC always asked permission before trying things with her. Too much of this genre has turned into the guy just taking what he wants and the girl letting him. I’m so over it lol. The characters were both in their 30’s. The Bear on the Mountain (Choose the Bear Book 1) by Jess Abraham is a refreshing cozy, shifter romance. Well paced with charmingly cute characters. I enjoyed the interaction between Luc and Kira. Such a sweet story. The witty banter is refreshing. It was interesting to see how this little shifter bear community got along with the overall community. Ms. Abraham did a great job on this story. First there is an adjacent series of wolf shifters with knots btw. While you don't have to read to understand this one. However I do plan on going back to read that series. The Bear on the Mountain is a sweet, fun story. Luc saves Kira after she's hurt on a hike in the mountains. Luc takes Kira to his cabin. Luc and Kira are attracted to each other.
