All Nate Hawthorne wanted was a decent cup of coffee, but instead, he finds himself cursed by a ruthless werewolf pack intent on exploiting his magic. To survive, the snarky warlock is forced into a fated-mates bond with his sworn enemy: Ian Armitage, the grumpy, hyper-protective alpha of a rival pack. Ian has spent years harboring a secret, simmering desire for Nate, but he refuses to let his attraction compromise his duty to his people. He claims this arrangement is strictly business, but the tension between them is anything but professional.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends high-stakes action with a biting, humorous enemies-to-lovers dynamic. As Nate and Ian navigate the dangerous politics of shifter society, they must learn to trust one another or face total destruction. Their forced proximity ignites a chemistry that is as explosive as it is inconvenient, proving that even the most mismatched pair can find a common rhythm amidst the chaos.
If you crave urban fantasy filled with complex pack dynamics, found-family warmth, and intense, steamy encounters, this story is your next obsession. It is a witty, fast-paced tale where the bickering is constant, the stakes are lethal, and the passion is undeniable.

Paranormal with an urban fantasy vibe. Plenty of snark and humour. Characters I really enjoyed, - sarcastic, crazy guys who bicker and have sex, bicker some more and so on. There's a bit of 'forced for your own good' mate bonding, which I'm not adverse to. There's also knotting....and even more knotting. Yeah, baby... While the book is sexy when Ian and Nate get it on, the ratio of story to sex is really good - I got plot, world building and character development. This is a kind of enemies to...

So I really liked Nate the main character, I liked the world and the central mystery. Plus the smut was genuinely great. Those parts were so strong I’m bumping this to a 4 star rather than a 3 or 2 star. Cause I really disliked the beau. His names Ian, and while I felt he was consistently written and made sense as a character, he was a bit Too Dumb. Most of the book he felt like total deadweight to the plot, and while miscommunication is central to the romance, it was insanely frustrating that...

Told from Nate’s POV, this jumps right into the action when he tries to get away from his kidnappers. Over the next chapters we learn about his (traumatic) childhood and youth and how he just yearns to belong. While that’s sad and a bit angsty Nate isn’t to be pitied as he’s a feisty sarcastic warlock who gives as good as he gets. Ian is obviously the long suffering guy who’s been crushing hard but tries to protect himself from hurt and while we don’t get his POV it’s quite obvious how he...

This has an interesting plot and characters. I loved Nate's sarcasm. There were many lines that were laugh out loud funny. It's irritating when books claim to be funny but they fall short. This book does deliver on the laughter. It felt a little rushed and imbalanced. The story takes place entirely from Nate's POV which was weird to me and a little sad because I would have loved to read Ian's side of things. I also think having his POV would have helped the pacing. The story goes rapidly from...

Admittedly, this book is a little tropey, however the writing is solid enough that it’s still quite an enjoyable read. The fast pace meant that I wasn’t left frustrated for long by the constant lack of proper communication between Nate and Ian. The plot was decent, but what really saved the book is that the writing seemed experienced (unlike many other novels that rely too much on tropes and have amateurish writing). My main issues were: I don’t think Nate’s trauma was adequately addressed....
