by Roxie Ray
Castiel is an Alpha with the weight of his pack on his shoulders and a reunion disaster looming over his head. When a frosting-fueled catastrophe threatens his reputation, he finds an unlikely savior in a tiny, struggling bakery. Enter Felicia, a brilliant but broke baker who has no room in her life for distractions, especially not a brooding, ridiculously attractive man demanding a last-minute miracle.
What starts as a frantic business transaction quickly spirals into a whirlwind of ruined ovens and accidental chemistry. As a human navigating the intense world of shifters, Felicia soon discovers that Castiel is as protective as he is grumpy. Their connection is a slow-burn masterpiece, balancing the tension of pack dynamics with the cozy, heartwarming comfort of a small-town romance.
This paranormal shifter standalone is the perfect escape for readers who crave a grumpy-sunshine dynamic wrapped in a found-family embrace. It is a sweet, spicy, and completely addictive story that feels like a warm hug. Whether you are here for the high-stakes baking drama or the soft alpha energy, this tale proves that even the most chaotic beginnings can lead to the sweetest, most permanent kind of love.

This was such a fun, cozy-with-heat read. Grumpy-sweet alpha, hardworking baker FMC, and a chaotic cake emergency that turns into something real? I was in immediately. The chemistry felt natural, the banter was cute without being cheesy, and I loved how grounded Felicia was while Castiel balanced alpha duties with genuine softness and vulnerability. I loved how they were two list puzzle pieces that fit so well and never thought that they would find love. It’s warm, a little spicy, and...

This book is like the kind of hug you don’t realize you need until you’re wrapped up in it and then suddenly, you’re teary-eyed without being sad. It’s soft, comforting, and just the right mix of sweetness, spicy praise and shifter charm. It gave me a cozy, quiet emotional release I didn’t know I was looking for. ) 7 people found this helpful

I loved how sweet this story was. The human was a stubborn and determined as I am so I really related to what she did. )

The characters were ok, but the male lead was not an alpha as he was supposed to be. Don't get me wrong, he was likable, but he just wasn't an alpha. He didn't need to be an alpha to be a good lead, so why insist on him being one if he won't act like one? This guy was so hesitant on all his decisions, claiming he was an alpha was just laughable. You can...
