A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Merit Sullivan was just another graduate student living a quiet life in Chicago until a brutal attack leaves her dead—or so the world thinks. When she awakens as a vampire, her life is irrevocably shattered. She is thrust into a hidden, nocturnal society where she must navigate the dangerous politics of Cadogan House, a powerful vampire faction, while struggling to retain her humanity in a world that views her as a predator.
This urban fantasy launch expertly blends high-stakes suspense with the slow-burn intensity of a forced-proximity dynamic. Merit is a sharp-witted heroine forced into an uneasy alliance with Ethan Sullivan, the centuries-old, grumpy Master of the House. Their relationship crackles with enemies-to-lovers tension as they are drawn together by necessity and the dangerous threats looming over their city. The narrative excels in crafting a found-family atmosphere that grounds the supernatural chaos in genuine emotional stakes.
If you crave a series that balances gritty action with biting humor, this is the perfect addition to your nightstand. With its masterfully built lore and the magnetic pull between two headstrong leads, it is a must-read for anyone seeking a fresh, addictive take on the paranormal romance genre.

I'm making my way through the Chicagoland series for my third time, and thought I owed it to Ms. Neill to finally take the time to review her amazing books. As you can surmise by this being my third re-read, I LOVE this series. But what makes it so great? My short answer is the characters, the romance, the action packed plot, and the snarktastic humor. But let's go into detail. When polled about my favorite urban fantasy heroines, Merit is always top on my list. What makes her so special? She's...

There are so many books out there right now with the plot: Human girls is turned vampire against her will, to save her from dying, and then must learn to fit into her new role and the new 'vampire' rules. Its hard to find one that sticks out now but \"Some Girls Bite\" definitely does! This was a great debut novel and Merit's personality is strong enough and fun enough to make her unique. She easily fits in amoung some of the strongest and best written paranormal heroines around. When Merit is...

Preconceived notions were ablaze when I downloaded this much anticipated novel to my handy-dandy kindle. For one I had been already following Chloe Neill's blog and twitter posts, so I had an idea of her writing skills, I had read a few reviews and all had me excited to read this novel. I was pretty sure all that it would entail - I guess, how can I put this - I was pretty sure what the flavor of the book was going to be. Whoa, boy was I wrong. First off it wasn't a bad surprise, not at all,...

Urban fantasy is where my addiction to reading all began. The genre is sentimental to me like that. And the series, Chicagoland Vampire, is exactly the type of story where my allegiances lie. It has vampires. Lots of them. If you don't like vampires, don't even bother; you won't like this series. Me? I'm a total sucker for vamps... wolves, fae, and witches too... but vamps I adore because they're dark, brooding, and most of the time hot as sin! But Ms. Neill has taken those dark, brooding, hot...
