A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Wedding bells are ringing for Mercy Thompson, but the stress of planning nuptials with her mother is proving far more dangerous than any supernatural threat she has faced before. As a coyote shifter living in a world dominated by powerful vampires and territorial werewolves, Mercy has always relied on her wits and her mechanic skills to survive. Now, she must navigate the high-stakes tension of becoming the Alpha’s mate while a new, ancient evil begins to stir beneath the cold currents of the Columbia River.
This installment of the beloved urban fantasy series leans heavily into the shifter genre, exploring the deep, protective bond between Mercy and Adam. While the wolf-shifter trope is often defined by aggression and dominance, their relationship offers a refreshing look at partnership and emotional vulnerability amidst the chaos. When the river’s dark secret forces Mercy to confront her own mysterious heritage, she must seek out her father’s elusive people.
If you are craving a paranormal romance that balances pulse-pounding action with genuine character growth, this journey into the supernatural underbelly of the Pacific Northwest is essential. It is a thrilling, heartfelt chapter that proves even the most independent shifter needs a pack to lean on when the shadows lengthen.

Mercy's going crazy. And it's not the fae, wolves, or vampires that are scaring her this time. It's her wedding. More specifically, planning it with her mother. Who apparently thinks doves, pigeons, and butterflies would be a wonderful addition to the day. She's ready to elope. The honeymoon should make up for it all though, and be just what she needs. Just her, Adam, a camper and no one for miles for ten days. Bliss. Unfortunately things don't go quite as planned and when they find a person...

Everyone has a love when it comes to the certain themes and situations that bring us in to genre writing. So, we've all developed a liking to Mercy if you've made it this far into the series, or at least I certainly have. I LOVED the chance to get to know her and Adam in this setting, away from counter affairs that stick in distracting characters (SAM!), as well as to understand the true treachery of the fae in these books. Mercy pulls all the stops to help out and breaks new ground here and...

Reviewed at Another Look Book Reviews Well as you can see by my last 5 book reviews, I've been buried in the Mercy Thompson series. I also must add, I've been loving this urban fantasy continuation story dearly. So let me tell you how hard it was to decide whether to even purchase River Marked or not. You see, I like all my books to match on my shelf. Every Mercy Thompson book I had got was paperback. River Marked is currently available in either hardcover or Kindle BUT there is the kicker. On...

Mercy was a little overwhelmed by the prospect of planning her wedding to local pack alpha Adam, so she let her mother take over. And then there were multiple trips looking for dresses and phone calls about doves, pigeons, butterflies, and 200 gold balloons. While this sounds like a disturbing combination, Mercy and Adam manage to get married and run off on their honeymoon. While honeymooning at a campground near portland, Mercy comes to the attention of the River Devil. It was something that...

The writing style for this book is different from the previous Mercy Thompson books. In the previous five books, we were shown in the first chapter who the antagonist was and what they were doing that made them an antagonist. This book is more of a conventional murder mystery: people are dying, but it's not clear what is happening, let alone how the hero can stop it. The characters have to accumulate clues and work the mystery out. Also, the book focuses heavily on the relationship between...
