Five years ago, a desperate bargain with a powerful fae king changed everything. Now, the debt has come due, and the price is a forced marriage that binds a werewolf to a ruler who views her as little more than a polished accessory to soothe his own internal torment. Forced into his home and his bed, she must navigate a dangerous game of royal politics while guarding the secrets of her own heart.
This gripping shifter romance flips the script on traditional paranormal hierarchies, introducing a world where female alphas struggle against a system stacked in favor of the betas. It is a refreshing, well-crafted take on the genre that balances high-stakes tension with a deeply emotional journey. For readers craving a fresh perspective on fated mate bonds, this story offers a unique world-building experience that feels both innovative and grounded.
Prepare for a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers dynamic that crackles with intensity and angst. As the protagonist plots her escape, she realizes that the only way to win is to turn the tables on her captor. With second-chance undertones and a satisfying happily ever after, this is the perfect immersive escape for fans of spicy, character-driven paranormal romance.

Loved this. I didn't expect the different type of wolf hierarchy, but it wasn't a problem. The book is well crafted and isn't the typical paranormal plot device. I really enjoyed it. Also I like that reading the next book isn't a requirement; it's an option. Lola did a great job of making me want to read it, so that's where I'm headed next. Enjoy! )

Different take on alpha and beta werewolves. Really liked that the women are the alphas. Disappointed that the betas have all the power though. Other than that I really enjoyed the book. The main characters (werewolf & fae) were great and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. )

I just finished a heart wrenching trilogy before this that had so much drama and angst. I was looking forward to a feel-good read from LolaGlass. I got it and then some. I felt all the feels. I cried at the intensity of emotions. Oh my goodness it was so good! )

The book was enjoyable but anticlimactic for me. Banter and character development without cringe is so hard to find, but for me, the author nailed it. I cackled so many times. Where they lost me at was the repetition and weak “stubborn” character plot device. You know what I mean, the character(s) have some sort of moral or made-up stance and won’t be convinced of anything different even if what they think makes no sense. Sometimes that works if you can convince the reader it’s a logical view,...
