One Foot in the Grave (Dramatized Adaptation): Night Huntress, Book 2

by Jeaniene Frost

About this book

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield has traded the shadows for a badge, working as a government agent to hunt down the rogue undead. Relying on the lethal skills taught to her by her former lover, the dangerously charismatic vampire Bones, she believes she has finally moved on. However, when an unknown enemy puts a massive bounty on her head, Cat realizes that being half-alive is a target, not a defense. To survive the relentless assassination attempts, she is forced to turn to the one man she vowed to leave behind.

This high-stakes paranormal romance masterfully blends gritty action with the intense, combustible chemistry that defines the Night Huntress series. As Cat and Bones reunite, the forced proximity trope ignites old flames, proving that their connection is far more than a simple past fling. Their partnership is a volatile mix of tactical expertise and reckless passion, creating a narrative that keeps readers breathless from the first page to the last.

Whether you are a fan of enemies-to-lovers dynamics or sharp-witted urban fantasy, this installment delivers on every front. It is a thrilling, addictive ride that proves some desires are truly immortal. If you crave a story where the stakes are life-or-death and the romance is scorching, this is your next obsession.

An all-time favorite!!

July 28, 2014

I thought Halfway to the Grave was amazing but ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE blow me away times 100. I heard that Bones would not be in the book for half of the book, so I thought oh, no it’s not going to be that good, but boy was I wrong. Every page was just great and Bone’s absence did not make the book any less than if it was if he was in every entire scene in the book. These Night Huntress books are just addictive as hell, I just can’t put them down. In Halfway in the Grave we left of with Cat...

compelling read, despite its inconsistencies

June 2, 2013

It's commonplace for romance novels to have an adventure story as their framework, and it's similarly common for adventure novels to have romance as a significant subplot. Jeaniene Frost gives the two parts a more equal weighting, creating novels that don't clearly lean to one specific genre, but need to be considered as a cross between both. Only readers who are fans both of fantasy adventure stories and also of steamy romances will properly appreciate this series. Those who are fans of just...

I love Cat and Bones!!

One Foot in the Grave is the second book in Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series. This year, I’m making it a point to finish this series. I don’t care if I have to stay up long hours to do it. It’s all Jeaniene Frost’s fault because she had me hooked from the first page of the first book. Now, after finishing the second book on a road trip, I’m even more hooked, and I don’t ever want to read other books right now because of it. This series will definitely be one I reread many times. That’s...

WONDERFUL SECOND BOOK IN THE SERIES!

February 16, 2014

There was a certain nervous expectation when I started to read this book. Will it be as wonderful as the first book in the series? Is Cat going to be her snarky self, swigging Gin, and making sure her sarcastic armor is firmly in place? Can Bones be as irreverent with his one liners and as sensually sexy? My verdict? YES! YES! YES! No disappointments. Nothing but pure pleasurable reading from the first chapter to the closing of the book. If you are looking for a new vampire, paranormal series...

Lives up to the hype

I have heard about this book for a few years now, particularly the infamous Chapter 32, and I have to say that it was well worth the wait. I read book one in the series, Halfway to the Grave, pretty much 2 years ago exactly but haven't managed to continue it aside from a couple short stories since then. Now that I'm finally able to I'm quite excited to finally be reading them (well, listening to them on audiobook) and so far am not a bit disappointed. The only thing I'm really worried about is...
