A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Cursed by the war god Camulus for a mistake made two millennia ago, Talon is a man defined by tragedy. As an ancient Celtic warrior turned immortal Dark-Hunter, he is shackled by a cruel fate: everyone he dares to love must die a horrific death before his eyes. For centuries, he has guarded humanity from the shadows, content to be a lone wolf fueled by vengeance, chicory coffee, and a healthy dose of cynicism.
Everything changes when he meets Sunshine, an offbeat, vibrant artist who refuses to be intimidated by his brooding exterior. This classic grumpy-sunshine dynamic breathes new life into Talon’s immortal existence, forcing him to confront the possibility of happiness. However, their budding romance is caught in the crosshairs of a brewing godly war. As Mardi Gras descends upon New Orleans, ancient deities emerge to reclaim the earth, turning the city into a supernatural battleground.
Blending high-stakes paranormal action with the warmth of a found-family, this installment expands the Dark-Hunter universe with delightful complexity. Whether you are a fan of historical backstories or gritty urban fantasy, this tale of redemption and defiance proves that even the most cursed warrior can find a reason to fight for the future.

To say the least I enjoy most of Kenyon's novels. What I enjoyed most of this installment to the Dark Hunter series isnt the great romanace, but the book's focus isnt entirely on the main characters. Instead you get glimpses into other parts of the Dark Hunter universe. Even though the story primarily focus is on Talon and Sunshine, you get nice side stories and revelations from other characters in the book. (As to where the first two installments of the series strictly focus on the couples)...

🏹 Dark Hunter Story 🏹 Talon and Sunshine’s story. 🖤 Talon is cursed by the god Camulus to lose everyone he loves. Thankfully (or so he thinks), he’s a Dark Hunter and all he needs is himself. He is like a brother to Acheron (leader of the Dark Hunters) and is best friends with Wulf. Sunshine is an artist who never wants to be a wife again. And yet, she’s the reincarnation of Talon’s late wife. She is also the granddaughter of the goddess, but doesn’t know it. They must fight to be together...

This entry to the series was a bit more fun than usual for me. Talon is not as bogged down by doom & gloom thinking. He enjoys his chicory, his donuts and being a total bada$$. Moreover, Sunshine is a breath of fresh air. She's artistic, flamboyant and more than a match for Talon. These two made a great couple who captured me with witty banter and a lot of humor. As per usual, there is also a lot of action (both in the romance department and the fighting department) and Ash pops in. Overall, a...

Would someone tell me why it's taken me so long to pick up this series? Please? Okay, I know I have no one but myself to blame but seriously, I can't believe it's taken me this long to jump on the Dark Hunter train. Never fear though. I'm totally making up for lost time. Talon was a mystery until now. He kept himself totally hidden and his swamp home, complete with alligators wasn't the only thing that kept people away. He kept his distance from everyone on purpose, but that all changed when he...

I am amazed at the abundance of material in the writing of this book. Although I didn't really feel any chemistry between Sunshine and Talon, nor did I even like them much, the book is outstanding! So many characters woven into the series making me want to dive right into the next book. I read this some years ago and I'm loving the read again. I'm so impressed at the creative and articulate mind of Me Kenyon. Truly an amazing writer. )
