Giselle is a first-grade teacher who pours her remaining energy into her students, even as she battles a chronic illness that makes every day a challenge. Her quiet, steady life in the classroom is her sanctuary, until a routine parent-teacher meeting introduces her to Ben. He is a widowed Alpha struggling to balance the weight of his responsibilities with the healing needs of his young daughter. Neither of them is looking for a complication, but fate has a way of weaving two broken hearts together.
This deeply moving shifter romance thrives on the tension of a second-chance narrative and the warmth of a found-family dynamic. Unlike typical paranormal reads that focus solely on pack politics, this story prioritizes the emotional evolution of its leads. It offers a gentle, grounded look at what it means to be vulnerable when you have every reason to keep your guard up.
Fans of academy settings and single-dad tropes will find a cozy, hopeful reflection of love’s capacity to mend what is fractured. Whether you are drawn to the magic of the shifter world or the raw, human reality of navigating illness and grief, this story promises a heartfelt journey toward wholeness. It is the perfect escape for those seeking a romance that is as tender as it is transformative.

This is a very good book. It's not just a \"shifter romance\". Like all good paranormal books it tackles difficult subject matter while the main characters figure out how to be in a relationship. It tackles the trauma of losing family suddenly and the devastating grief that goes with it and the struggle forward and through \" survivor guilt \".and the struggle to make it through. The author also has surprisingly insight into life as a \" differently able \" individual. Although the character...

I had no idea when I started reading this book how much emotion it would drag from me. This isn’t just a story about two people falling in love. This is a story about heartbreak, sorrow, joy, yearning and healing. All of the characters in this book are on their own journeys through the darkness and the author is able to pull so much real emotion from their struggles. I have cried more reading this book more than almost any book I’ve ever read. It’s just so real. Although I’ve never had the...

This was a good book. Sometimes I felt like she was too wordy, took too long to say something. The story was very intense, but uplifting. I liked how she used some of today's lingo, buy did not like how she kept referring to Nox as \"they\". That was initially confusing and was not necessary for the story. And it stopped the flow every time. ) 4 people found this helpful
