Allison is a century-old witch with a secret that defies the natural order: she is also a werewolf. Living as a lone wolf, she has spent decades mastering her dual nature while avoiding the watchful eyes of the Inquisition, the powerful organization tasked with policing the supernatural. But her carefully constructed life of solitude shatters when she accepts a high-stakes job as a Cinderella-turned-fiancee at an exclusive Halloween ball.
The evening takes a gruesome turn when she is framed for the murder of several werewolves. Now, the hunter has become the hunted. With her life on the line and the Inquisition closing in, Allison must navigate a dangerous web of lies to identify the real killer before she is executed for crimes she did not commit. As a target on the killer's list, she has no choice but to rely on her lethal instincts and hidden power to survive.
Blending fast-paced urban fantasy with gripping murder mystery, this story is a must-read for fans of shifter lore and badass heroines. While the stakes are life-or-death, the narrative offers a tantalizing hint of romance that keeps the tension high. Prepare for a heart-pounding investigation where magic, claws, and conspiracy collide in the modern-day shadows.

If you're a fan of Urban Fantasy, werewolves, and witches then Inquisitor is a must read for you. It's fast-paced, action-packed with just a very, very, little hint at romance. In Inquisitor Blain added some unique touch to the story. Like, this funny fact - a werewolf that allergic to dogs. Werewolf-witch as the heroine make a very interesting character. Basically, the plot is kind of murder mystery. The main character gets accused of a crime she didn’t commit. If Allison (It's really funny...

This story is set in modern-day U.S., but Allison is over a century old; she’s a witch. But she’s not just any witch, she’s a werewolf, too. This is why the Inquisition (a group of witches and wolves who serve as a disciplinary, internal affairs type of organization) has accused her of murder. But this is also why she’s so desperate to clear her name and stop whoever really is killing innocent witches and wolves. Because of the witch and werewolf characters, this story falls into the realms of...

This is the newest novel that Blain has written, and I think this is one of her best ones yet. The characters are enthralling and intriguing, and there's never a dull moment in the story. I honestly didn't know what to expect since she usually writes high epic fantasy novels. But I have to say, I have spent all afternoon reading this book and feel like I'm an addict. The way the opening was set up was perfect for a paranormal mystery novel. What I liked most about it was how the flow of the...

I'm finishing up the last (4th) book of the series. Overall, it's an interesting storyline and the characters are fairly enjoyable. Like other reviewers, I had to put the books down at times. They weren't at the level of Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, Iliona Andrew or Kim Harrison - but few are. This series was enjoyable and better written than many out there. Some negatives that just irritated me immensely: The use of the word \"bitch\". Yes, female dogs and wolves are called bitches by...

I cannot believe I forgot to post a review for Inquisitor! I have never rated a book before I finished, but the only thing Blain could do to change that 5 stars would be to kill everyone with an Earth destroying comet at the end of Inquisitor. I LOVE this book, and I love Shimmer! I found Inquisitor by looking at the books Amazon 'recommends' based on my browsing history. Then I pushed that infernal 'try a sample' button, and I was lost. I have been trying to come up with a genre description...
