Anna Latham is still adjusting to her new reality as a werewolf and the mate of Charles Cornick, the lethal enforcer for the North American pack. While their bond is the heart of this urban fantasy, their domestic bliss is short-lived. Charles and Anna are tasked with attending a high-stakes political summit to introduce a radical proposition: revealing the existence of werewolves to the human world. It is a controversial move that promises to shift the global balance of power and ignite old rivalries.
The situation turns deadly when Anna is ambushed by vampires wielding forbidden pack magic. This terrifying discovery forces the duo to navigate a treacherous web of conspiracy where ancient laws are being broken and the line between predator and prey blurs. As they hunt for the architect of this dark power, they must rely on their unique partnership to survive, deepening the found-family ties that define their pack.
Patricia Briggs masterfully blends intense pack dynamics with a gripping mystery that keeps readers on edge. Fans of paranormal romance will delight in the evolving chemistry between the stoic, dangerous Charles and the resilient Anna. It is a must-read for those craving a high-stakes supernatural adventure that never loses sight of its emotional core.

4.5-5 stars This is a great book. Charles and Anna are getting better as a couple and the story was very interesting and had a some unexpected twists and turns as they try to discover the bad guy. This is a great addition to a great series. Anna has been a werewolf for 3 years and is married to Charles (who has been a werewolf for much longer). Charles is the enforcer for his father, Bran, who is the Marrok (the leader of all the werewolves in North America). Anna is an Omega wolf (a rare type...

Oh, Patricia, you delicious genius! You’re my spirit animal! (Before I continue on to reviewing the story itself, let me just say the book, though second hand, was in mint condition and arrived in a timely fashion. Very satisfied!) This is one of the few authors of the paranormal genre that can still make me fly through the pages, spilling popcorn down my shirt, guessing till the last minute. Her dialogue is sharp and clever, her characters achingly real, and her plots masterfully thiughtout. I...

I adore Patricia Briggs, so it was a big bummer when I read the first book in the Alpha and Omega series - Cry Wolf - and didn't like it. I have enough faith in the author that I gave Hunting Ground a try - and boy am I glad I did! I thought the book got off to a slow start, but by the end I was really wrapped up in the characters and the story. The first quarter of the book or so is slow - like Cry Wolf, it has a lot of telling instead of showing. Anna and Charles are endlessly discussing the...

Alpha and Omega #2: Hunting Ground, by Patricia Briggs After finishing \"Cry Wolf,\" the first book in the Alpha and Omega series, I was quite eager to read \"Hunting Ground.\" The book doesn't disappoint; I was actually trying to read slowly so I could make it last longer. \"Hunting Ground\" starts by jumping right into werewolf politics. Bran, the Marrok (leader) of all American packs is planning on bringing the werewolves out to the public, like the fae did 30 years ago. Naturally, many...

HUNTING GROUND had a lot of interesting morsels in it from both a mythology and a story standpoint; readers get to learn about fae, vampires and dragons (!!!), witness firsthand how Bran’s decision to bring the werewolves out to the public came to be, and observe the continuing evolution of Anna & Charles’ relationship. No author does light/dark quite like Patricia Briggs, and this audiobook really emblazoned that fact by putting these preternaturals’ best and worst qualities on display. Holter...
