How to Help a Hungry Werewolf: A Novel (The Sanctuary for Supernatural Creatures Book 1)

by Charlotte Stein

About this book

Returning to the quaint, slightly eerie town of Hollow Brook was supposed to be a simple mission for Cassandra Camberwell. Tasked with clearing out her late grandmother’s estate, Cassie never expected to cross paths with Seth Brubaker, the former best friend who once made her high school years a nightmare. But Seth has changed; he is no longer just a local boy, but a powerful wolf-shifter struggling with a curse that only a witch can soothe.

What begins as a reluctant professional pact—Seth helps Cassie unlock her dormant magical potential while she brews his essential potions—quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. As they navigate the quirky charm of a town filled with talking raccoons and hidden supernatural secrets, a sudden, intense fated-mates bond ignites between them. The deal was supposed to be strictly business, but the undeniable chemistry between the witch and her werewolf is impossible to ignore.

This paranormal romance is a delightful blend of cozy small-town vibes and high-stakes supernatural tension. With its unique academy-style learning, witty banter, and a perfect balance of heart and spice, it is an essential read for anyone craving a swoon-worthy shifter story that hits all the right tropes.

A-dork-able

Love the build up in the relationships, dorkiness, and the level of spice is perfect! Never thought I would be worried about a microwave... Pod is amazing and needs a good cuddle! This was definitely a story I could connect to and it wasn't \"choreographed\" I swear I will never forget that lol! Highly recommend! )

Pretty good

I really enjoyed this book but it lost me for a bit in the middle. Then it picked back up and hooked me attention again. Cassie and Seth were good characters. Very likable and great chemistry. This is my first book by this author. )

Great story, but painful to read

The writing style did not work for me. This is such a lovely story with a fantastic world that is absolutely ruined by excessive stream of consciousness by the main character. Every thought the character has is restated in subsequent slightly different sentences that add zero context or detail. It slows the narrative and beats a great story to death. Lots of words and phrases repeated to an annoying degree. If you take out all the excessive dithering I’m not sure there’s a novel here. Missed...

Fantastic first

This book is an emotional rollercoaster. The chemistry between Cassie and Seth is there from the start but past history and new found magic make this a slow burn path to an incendiary finish. A terrific first. )

Amazing Read!

\"How to Help a Hungry Werewolf\" was my very first novel by Stein, and it did not disappoint! It was a fantastical, whimsical read that had me laughing from the very first few pages, as I enjoyed the pop culture references, mythology building, and growth of the MCs. Highlights: 1) Comedy gold: the pop culture references, the snarky and sassy banter between the MCs, and the mythology building (Poor Seth collecting marble Gobblin poo) evoked more laughter than I was originally expecting and made...
