A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Clara Savoie is tired of waiting. She knows Henry Blackwater, the brooding and mysterious necromancer, harbors deep feelings for her, yet he remains stubbornly out of reach. Determined to break through his defenses, she trades subtle hints for bold moves, weaponizing cupcakes and a clever invitation to a high tea romance book club to finally corner her man. What begins as a quest for romance quickly evolves into a journey of discovery as Clara uncovers the haunting secrets that have kept Henry guarded for so long.
This sixth installment of the Stay a Spell series is a masterclass in paranormal romance, blending sizzling chemistry with the high-stakes drama of the supernatural world. As a dedicated shifter and witch-centric series, it excels at world-building, but the heart of this story lies in the slow-burn tension between a vibrant, persistent heroine and a hero struggling with his dark legacy.
When a sudden murder accusation pulls Henry back into his father’s dangerous orbit, the stakes shift from romantic pursuit to survival. Henry must choose between protecting Clara from his family’s grim history or surrendering to the love he has fought so hard to deny. Fans of fated mates and forced proximity will be hooked by this emotional, magical ride.

5 stars — You know how you start a series, and you know who all the heroines are going to be in a series (say, if it’s about 6 witch sisters), and almost right from the start, you know EXACTLY which one is your favourite, and whose story you are most looking forward to? And then you wait and wait, and grow more and more intrigued and impatient, only to find out that they have the last book? And then you’ve fallen soooo in love with them and their future mate already, and you’re still excited,...

This was probably my favourite one of the series. But, unfortunately, this series wasn't the one I'd hoped it would be. I first read Cross's Nightwing series and fell in love with her writing. I also got used to heroines who were strong and smart. These sisters are powerful and yet they don't do much. Their powers are more afterthoughts. They always needed to be saved. That was disappointing. Next these books are long. In this book there isn't really much that happens until the end. It has cozy...

***5 ‘Butterfly’ Stars*** So. Much. Goodness. Not that I didn’t expect it from the Savoie family as a whole, because I love them all, or from Clara and Henry after all the time they spent seeing each other, but NOT seeing each other *eye roll/grin* but this book had so many great moments, my book loving heart is all kinds of satisfied ~ yet, needing-wanting-demanding more because how does one not want to hang out more with this crazy, loving family. Now that I’ve gotten that out…Clara and...

I loved, loved Clara and Henry’s soulmates long crush romance with a side of murder and past trauma. Their love story was a tease throughout the entire series and it was worth the wait. Their story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love and evoked all the feels for me. Expect to laugh, cry, gasp, cheer, grind your teeth, and swoon while reading, especially witnessing Clara and her love help to heal Henry childhood trauma and fear. The story included witty dialogue, three...

This was the only book in the Stay a Spell series that I felt like you absolutely needed to read the previous books to get the full scope of their pre-relationship. This book starts and their relationship immediately hits the ground running. I was SO excited for this book and maybe I accidentally let my expectations get too high because I didn’t love it. I knew this book might feel insta-lovey since I saw the author post about it so I thought I was mentally prepared. I, in fact, was not. I felt...
