Forgotten Ashes (The Iolite Academy Book 1)

by Kathryn Covens

About this book

Briar Lennox arrives at the prestigious Iolite Academy with one goal: to claim her destined place as Luna of the shifter pack. However, her homecoming is shattered when Grayson, the Alpha who once broke her heart, demands she abandon her birthright. As old wounds resurface, Briar finds herself locked in a bitter enemies-to-lovers standoff with the only man she was meant to rule beside.

Beneath the tension of pack politics, a far deadlier secret simmers. Briar is the last surviving elemental, a rare lineage marked for extinction. One slip in her control could expose her identity and invite a swift, lethal end. To survive the academy’s treacherous halls, she must master her volatile powers while navigating a web of betrayal and hidden agendas that threaten to consume her.

This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends high-stakes dark academia with the warmth of a hard-won found family. As the line between duty and self-preservation blurs, Briar realizes she is fighting for more than just a crown; she is fighting for her very existence. If you crave intense shifter dynamics, simmering romantic tension, and a heroine who refuses to be broken, step into the forest of Iolite—where every shadow hides a secret.

⭐️ 5/5 Thank you so much to Kathryn Covens for the chance to read Forgotten Ashes as an ARC! I’ve never been one to really re-read any books, especially if I just finished reading them, but THIS BOOK. I’ve already started a re-read of Forgotten Ashes after I’ve only just finished it less than 12 hours ago. Briar Lennox, Beta of the Othneil shifter pack and rightful Luna of the Iolite Academy shifter pack is a strong female lead with some stabby tendencies and stabby friends. The only problem?...

Fantastic Paranormal fantasy

This book is my first introduction to the writing style of Kathryn Covens and I’m a fan. I love that this book stayed fairly true to the upper YA/dark academia vibes that it promised. Though the book listed some content warnings at the beginning, I feel that the g0re was fairly mild, but I could also see how some of the descriptions of the g0re or even the feeling of anxiety could catch someone off guard especially if they fit in the young adult demographic…which I don’t. This...

BEST BOOK OF 2024!

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I absolutely would!! I haven’t read a book that left me absolutely speechless in years and it was so fun reading this!! I honestly don’t want to say too much about it so that everyone will go in blind as I did and have the same experience that I did 😂 Briar is definitely top 3 FMCs ever for me. She was so likable but still strong and able to hold her own and I seriously can’t wait to read more!!! When I finished this book I sat in silence with my...
