VAMPIRES, DEMONS, AND SEX....YEAH!!

April 22, 2014

This first full novel spin off from the Night Huntress Series is not to be missed! As with Cat and Bones stories, this tale of Denise and Spade has plenty of steamy love scenes, dangerous villains to defeat, and moments of humor amidst all the drama and sorrow. Ms. Frost has created one of my favorite series with the Night Huntress. FIRST DROP OF CRIMSON grabbed my attention from the beginning as all of her books in the series do. Found it to be a quick read, not because it’s a short novel, but...

Nice addition to the series

I’ve been enjoying the wild ride that is Cat and Bones in the Night Huntress books and that includes all of the awesome side characters so I was excited to see that a few of them got their own stories in this little spinoff series! I’ve taken a liking to Spade ever since Cat first tackled him in Bones’ cave way back in book 1 and he’s continued to impress in the other books as he has proven over and over again what a loyal friend and ally he is to Bones. I was glad to see that his loyalty and...

First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost

I have been reading a lot of YA books lately and I love them! I do, but I needed a break from the angst, anyone else ever feel like that? Well, now and then I do. So I turned to Jeaniene Frost, I have loved her books in the past so I thought this would be a good change of pace for me. I do have to admit to something though, I have had this book since February and I have not read it until now, and it is August. I know, I was not sure why I kept putting it off because I love Jeaniene's other...

A more intimate look at Spade!

March 29, 2013

This book was one I was definitely eager to read, due to my undying love for the Night Huntress series. I have been a serious long-time admirer of Spade--who is featured as a secondary character in the Night Huntress books--and when I learned that he was taking the spotlight as one of the main characters in First Drop of Crimson, I couldn't wait to dig in to this story! This book is told from the dual perspectives of Spade and Denise, which I quite liked! Denise is Cat's best friend in the...

First Drop of Crimson

February 23, 2010

I recommend that you be at least familiar, if not up-to-date on the Night Huntress series (Halfway to the Grave, One Foot in the Grave, At Grave's End and Destined for an Early Grave) before reading this book. I really enjoyed this book; however, it had a tiny bit more romance than I thought it would. The first parts of the book were a bit predictable but not hard to get into. Once things got going, Spade and Denise's story was just as exciting and captivating as a Cat and Bones story. And akin...
