Alex Lawson has spent her life as a small-town outcast, finding her only true community within the digital archives of a cult-classic werewolf detective show. She knows the lore better than the creators, but she harbors a deep-seated grudge against the show’s arrogant star, Devin Ashwood. To Alex, Devin is the ultimate disappointment—until he shows up on her doorstep with a problem that defies all logic.
After a mysterious Wolf Blood Moon, Devin finds himself grappling with literal claws and fangs, realizing the supernatural fiction he once acted in has become his terrifying reality. Desperate for answers, he turns to the one person who knows more about shifters than anyone else: his biggest critic. Forced proximity brings these enemies together in an uneasy alliance, as Alex must help him navigate his dangerous new instincts while battling their undeniable chemistry.
This witty urban fantasy blends the sharp edges of a historical-inspired mystery with the heat of a modern paranormal romance. As they work to wrangle his inner beast, the line between fan and idol blurs into something far more volatile. If you are looking for a story that balances laugh-out-loud humor with raw, heartfelt emotion, this is your next obsession.

5 / 5 Stars Gosh, I LOVED this book. It was the perfect mix of funny, spicy, and heartfelt. Alex grew up as the weirdo in Tompkins, Florida. The town is divided into the have and have nots and folks decided Alex was a have not. So Alex has kept everyone at an arm's length. The only thing that kept her going was The Arcane Files, a werewolf detective TV show, that she watched growing up. She loved it so much, she became the moderator of the online forum and keeper of all TAF knowledge. So when...

I love this author because she writes books that are different, unique, sometimes magical but always with depth and emotions. I liked this story. I enjoyed the dynamic between the two characters, their banter (even though it was kinda mean at times,) and the sweet, flutters in my chest during certain moments between them (i particularly liked the nod to beauty and the beast and the idea of the magic of love.) but there were times I really disliked the characters, especially the mmc. He was...

I have really enjoyed all of her other books. This one felt a little preachy to me. And I have a hard time reading a book that uses plural pronouns for singular people. It feels like the grammar is wrong which I don't enjoy. I wish I had waited to buy this book when it went on sale instead of right after it came out. ) 5 people found this helpful

So adorable and different! I usually can't stand romance books that bring up romance books and fanfic (it usually feels fourth-wall-breaky in a cringey way) but this story pulled it off, I think because the tv and fanfic history fed the main character's flaws and character growth. I loved the characters, loved that they were in their mid-thirties and early forties, and loved the werewolf origin story and them getting to work everything out together from the jump, with lots of great tension...

THIS WAS A SUCH A BLAST!!!! Pretty sure this is my favorite Rosie Danan. (Possible vague spoilers below??) I was all in from the moment he was so sweet to her at the Con only for things to take a drastic turn not 3 paragraphs later. And for Alex to have used that interaction as the evidence she needed to fuel her persona for the rest of her life - it hurts so much!!! And poor Devin! Going through so much and being trained all his life to stuff it down to make himself more palatable. Their...
