On her eighteenth birthday, Nora was publicly humiliated and rejected by her fated mate, losing both her wolf and her place in the pack hierarchy. For six years, she has hidden in the human world, nursing her wounds and living a life defined by silence. But when the ruthless and powerful Alpha lion Atticus Phoenix tracks her down, he doesn't just offer her a place at his side; he drags her back into a world of claws, blood, and lethal politics.
This gripping urban fantasy launches the Second Chances trilogy, masterfully weaving together the intensity of a slow-burn reverse harem with the high stakes of pack dynamics. As Nora is thrust into the protective embrace of Atticus and his loyal, dangerous inner circle, she must navigate a landscape of vengeful enemies and shifting power. It is a story of reclamation, where a woman deemed not good enough by her past becomes the most guarded figure in the country.
With raw emotional depth and a compelling take on healing, this dark romance is perfect for readers who crave fated-mates tropes with a jagged, vengeful edge. Nora is no longer prey; she is the catalyst for a reckoning that will leave her enemies shattered.

It’s my opinion and I don’t mind if you disagree. Great story. Emotionally engaging with heartbreaking moments, I was invested right from the start. The author wrote a heartfelt story that rang true. It felt as though my own trauma was being presented right in front of me and the explanations for the emotions that were triggered were exactly as they should be - no shame to be had. Beautifully executed. )

This is book one in the series of Second Chances. The whole book is filled with sweet mates and one selfish one. The book starts with Nora on her eighteenth birthday. She is happy, kind, and ready to find her mate. At a pack meeting, Nora discovers that the son of the Alpha leader is her mate (Kennedy). Unfortunately, the Alpha leader doesn’t want Nora for his son. This sends Nora into a tailspin, sadness, longing, loneliness, depression, grief, and loss of a mate. There are many triggers and...

This is an excellent read. Not just for the unfolding plot lines, but for the sheer raw take on mental health. As someone who has had to deal with many a mental health battle, this was a balm for me and my soul. And this is only book 1. This is a ride. A well thought ride. There are some very minute editorial issues. But the intricate weave of the mental health crisis throughout, its effects on both MC and supporting roles, and the harsh realities life can be filled with…it is stellar. The...

🔥 Shifter Romance 🔥 Mates of Different Species 🔥 Mental Health Issues 🔥 Rejected Mates Found this book from BookTok. Guess that should be enough said right? Nora wanted nothing more in life than to turn 18 and find her fated mate. Little did she know that the Alpha’s son was her fated mate but she was too late. She gets rejected and banished from her pack because she can’t handle walking away from what is supposed to be hers. Both her parents and her sister are a part of the betrayal and...

Never have I felt more validated for struggling with my own mental health. Nora struggles with depression in a way that is so relatable you just know the author had to have experienced it herself. I’ve never read a book that encompasses the thoughts behind suicidal ideation and depression so well and realistically. It is very different to read a book including mental health from an author who has experienced it personally and one who hasn’t and this author has and it shows. I cried so much but...
