by Christine Feehan
Lara Calladine is a woman forged in ice, a rare hybrid of three species struggling to find her place in a world that views her as an anomaly. As an expert in frozen landscapes, she survives by keeping her guard up and her secrets buried deep. But when her recurring nightmares demand answers, she is forced to seek out the one man capable of navigating the treacherous, supernatural terrain of the Carpathian mountains: Nicolas De La Cruz.
Nicolas is a weary warrior, a hunter who has spent centuries battling darkness while yearning for a humanity he fears he has lost. Their meeting sparks a slow-burn connection that transcends mere attraction, drawing them into a dangerous dance of trust and survival. As they traverse the icy wilderness, the boundaries between hunter and prey blur, replaced by an undeniable, fierce passion that threatens to consume them both.
This gripping installment in the legendary Carpathian series masterfully blends high-stakes urban fantasy with intense paranormal romance. Feehan delivers a refreshing twist on her established lore, creating a story that feels both nostalgic and daringly new. If you crave a moody, atmospheric escape filled with ancient shifters and complex, brooding heroes, this is your next essential read.

This book was a fabulous addition to the Dark series! Dark Curse was different from other books in this series, and I found those twists both interesting and refreshing. The cause of high infant mortality rates and...

The print quality is fantastic. Exactly how I remember it as a kid. Mass-produced books have actually always been a favorite of mine. The way the pages smell, the soft fluttering of the pages as you fan through them, or just turning each page, really makes you feel that cozying up with a book vibe that we readers crave. Definitely a good quality to add to the shelves. Especially for those of us with a TBR taller than we are. Beautifully priced and excellently crafted. )

I am still enjoying reading and enjoying Feehan's Carpathian series of books. In fact, I recently started reading them again. I feel as though these characters are a part of my own family and friends. Being retired for more than a decade has given me plenty of time to enjoy all of them. However, I will always enjoy returning to the original series of books. )

This is one of the best of the most recent additions to the Dark series. It moves the story line forward quite a bit and does not have as much fluff as previous books. However, the number of pages devoted to the Carpathian language was ludicrous and I felt cheated in regard to the story. A few more pages to make the ending a little softer in light of the heroine not being converted would have been beneficial. Unlike some readers, I did not consider the fact that she was not converted a problem,...
