A Frost Filled Christmas (Ribbon Series)

Anna Latham has spent three years living in fear at the bottom of a brutal werewolf pack, hiding the fact that she is a rare Omega. Treated as nothing more than a punching bag, she has learned to distrust all dominant males. Her life changes forever when Charles Cornick, the enforcer to the Marrok and one of the most powerful werewolves in existence, arrives to investigate a string of murders. He instantly recognizes Anna for what she truly is, setting off a chain of events that will pull her from the shadows of her abusive pack and into a dangerous new world.
As a gripping urban fantasy, this story masterfully blends pack dynamics with a slow-burn paranormal romance. The chemistry between the stoic, lethal alpha-hero and the resilient, underestimated Omega creates a perfect emotional balance. Their connection is not just about physical attraction, but about finding a partner who values their true identity.
If you love tales of found-family and complex supernatural hierarchy, this series opener is essential reading. Patricia Briggs delivers a high-stakes adventure where shifting loyalties and ancient laws collide. It is a must-read for anyone seeking a compelling shifter romance that favors character growth and intense world-building over tired genre clichés.

Though it is not absolutely necessary, readers should definitely start with Briggs' short story in the On the Prowl anthology. She introduces Anna and Charles, and the events in \"Cry Wolf\" begin immediately following that story. Patricia Briggs really hit her stride with the Mercy Thompson series. Great urban fantasy with a smart, resilient heroine. So, I was surprised to find I enjoy her new \"Alpha and Omega\" series just as much. It is set in the same world as Mercy; she is mentioned and...

4.5-5 stars This is a great book. I really love Anna and Charles. They're such a great couple that balance each other really well. I will note that this book picks up immediately where the original short story Alpha & Omega leaves off. Since Alpha & Omega contains the story of how Anna and Charles met, I believe it would be best to read that before moving on to this book. Anna is a werewolf from Chicago. She was a member of a pack that had gone bad, brutalizing her for 3 years before the...

I'm not sure how to write this review without excessive gushing. Gushing hurts my credibility as a reader. Well, I think it's clear that I'm not above a little gushing if I love a book. But I do try to be objective. However, sometimes a good book deserves gushing, and lots of it. Such is the case with Cry Wolf. My tastes are somewhat simple when it comes to a book. I want to be involved and entertained. When I read a book that takes me to that next level of pure emotional enjoyment, catching me...

This (Kindle) book was my starting point in reading Patricia Briggs, and now I Can't Stop. I'll end up spending far more on this author than I ever have on any author, includng James Michener, Nelson DeMille, John Sandford and Larry McMurtry -- all bought in hardback. As my headline of this review says, it's best to read the first story in \"On the Prowl\" first. It's titled \"Alpha and Omega\", which is Charles and Anna. I didn't start with that one (call it a \"prequel\") but I found it...

In order to get backstory..... read the companion novella first!!! It only took me an hour; but it gives the entire story leading up to what is going on & why things happened when this book begins in Chapter 1. The novella was absolutely worth the read! It was emotional for how short it was & it definitely helped me build immersion with the characters mentioned thus far. My review after finishing the book! ... This is my first time reading a Patricia Briggs book so I had no idea what to expect....
