Shaya Critchley is tired of being the submissive half-shifter in the Phoenix Pack. After being rejected and ignored by her fated mate, Nick Axton, she decides she has had enough of his constant meddling and lack of commitment. Determined to reclaim her autonomy, she flees the pack to live among humans, hoping to escape the suffocating presence of the man who refuses to claim her.
Nick is driven by a secret, agonizing truth: a degenerative brain condition that makes him fear turning his mate into a caretaker. He believes he is protecting Shaya by keeping his distance, but when she vanishes, his possessive Alpha instincts ignite. He realizes that staying away is no longer an option, and he sets out to hunt her down, fully prepared to earn her forgiveness and claim what is rightfully his.
This high-stakes entry in the Phoenix Pack series masterfully blends intense pack dynamics with the classic tropes of a brooding alpha-hero and a fierce, independent heroine. Fans of paranormal romance will devour this emotional rollercoaster, which proves that sometimes the only way to heal a broken bond is through fiery determination and unconditional devotion. Prepare for a steamy, heart-pounding journey where love defies even the darkest circumstances.

Wow, this was more like Feral Sins, still no book will be better than Feral Sins, but i still loved it, it was great. Nick needed to do a lot of grovel and he did and i loved his alpha behavior, he was like Trey, oh my god, it was sexy, hot, erotic, mind blowing, soul shattering. Love this series and i hope we get to see Dominic's, i really love him and want him to be with his woman, also Marcus and Nick's sister....ah, i want a story of all of them, like now! Just finished book #3 and Suzanne didn't let me down. I don't understand the first two reviews- unless they haven't read books 1 + 2. Maybe then? Nah. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Nick's story, but put him together with Taryn's BFF- Shayla, and it became just as good as the first two books. This whole book was about misunderstandings, over-protection, and starting over. I usually avoid books like this but please don't. It's really worth the read. Just make sure you read the series in...

I would have given this installment a 2 were it not for how well she wrote Nick's character. I have numerous issues with the writing of this particular book, although I like the series as a whole and the world that she has created. 1. Suzanne Wright has fallen into the writer's trap where she mistakes belligerent childishness for strength. Her female leads in general, and Shaya in particular, come across as snotty, petulant, inarticulate teenagers. Shaya is constantly cussing out Nick, smacking...

This is the third or fourth time I have read this series and I can say it is awesome! There are hot sex scenes but if that isn’t your thing skip them like I do. This a great story. I highly recommend this book which leads into the Mercury pack series which is great also! )
