Aurora's Angel

by Emily Noon

About this book

Haunted by the murder of her father and a past stained with blood, Aurora is a shapeshifter huntress who has spent years in the shadows. Weary of the violence, she is finally ready to vanish and start anew. That is, until her final mission leads her to a horrifying discovery: a beautiful, broken-winged angel held captive in an underground cage.

Against her better judgment, Aurora rescues Evie. The two are natural enemies—the avian race is notorious for selling out shapeshifters to black-market dealers—yet they are forced into an uneasy alliance to survive. What begins as a desperate trek toward safety quickly transforms into a slow-burn romance that challenges everything they thought they knew about their sworn rivals.

This high-stakes shifter fantasy masterfully weaves suspense with deep emotional longing. As they navigate a world determined to tear them apart, Aurora must learn to trust again while Evie fights to heal the scarred heart of her protector. If you are looking for a gripping enemies-to-lovers story with world-building that rivals the greats and a romance that will leave you breathless, this is your next obsession. Prepare to be completely enthralled by a journey where love is the ultimate act of defiance.

Reader Reviews

One of Best Reads of the Decade!!!

February 21, 2025

Pthe depth and quality of the writing before you get 3 chapters in. I would class the author’s world building on par with the late Anne McCafferey. This author drops the world building details with care, and in a completely organic way that just flows with the story. There are no globs of details that bombard the reader in an info dump or disrupts the story. The world building details unfold naturally as the characters are moving through the story and their world. Of the two MC’s, I found Evie...

I love this book!

I hope Emily Noon writes more, either within the universe of this book or something new. The adventure is secondary to the romance. The characters are complex and well written. The romance is slow burn, even though, it’s only a matter or days between the escape of the Cutter’s Den and the arrival at House Aquilar. There is magic, danger, mystical beasts, and all types of shifters (tigers, avians, wolves, mer folk, and dragons oh my). Evie is an Avain shifter, who stumbles upon a cutters den and...

The world-building in this book is nothing short of phenomenal. Noon creates a vivid and immersive universe filled with intricate details that bring every scene to life. From the dark...

My favourite book of all time

I have read this book more times than i genuinely care to admit. this has all been in the span of about a year might i add. the way the reader is able to follow Evie and Aurora’s relationship is both beautiful and complex. there’s laughter, heartache, tenderness, and much more that any real couple would have. the concept of the book itself is also incredibly intriguing and leaves you wishing to be a shifter yourself. highly recommend for any fantasy lovers as well as sapphics looking for a...

I love this book and I can't wait for Emily Noon to bring out the next installment. Im not rushing her by any means because I want her to have all the relaxation, creativity, and food needed to give us a book as amazing as this one. This book was SO much more than what I expected from a WLW romantic fiction book on Kindle. Finding a great story in this genre can be like shopping at Ross. There is some great finds among all the clutter and crap. This book is totally one of the great ones that I...
