Emerie is a woman defined by her search for redemption, tasked with guarding the Zagros Fortress against the encroaching darkness. When she is ordered to capture a terrifying monster, she expects to fulfill her duty with cold precision. Instead, she finds herself horrified by the cruelty inflicted upon her prisoner. Driven by a newfound sense of morality, she makes a reckless choice to help him escape, unaware that this act of mercy will tether her fate to a creature who is as dangerous as he is captivating.
Ingram is consumed by a singular, burning need for revenge. After falling into the hands of his enemies, he expects only pain and degradation. Yet, he finds an unlikely ally in the beautiful, broken woman who dares to defy her own people. As their paths collide, their relationship shifts from captor and prisoner to something far more elemental. Amidst the shadows of the fortress, their enemies-to-lovers dynamic ignites, blending dark, gritty tension with an unexpected, soul-deep connection.
This latest installment in the Duskwalker Brides series is a masterclass in paranormal romance. Opal Reyne weaves a hauntingly visceral tale that explores the thin line between monster and man, and the healing power of an unlikely bond. If you crave intense world-building and a romance that will leave your heart fractured and whole all at once, this is the gripping journey you have been waiting for.

The Duskwalker Brides series was my first venture into books of its kind, and it has spoiled me more and more with each book. A Soul to Revive destroyed my soul and glued it back together, and I adored it. My faith in Opal is strong, and I still had to put it down and cry a few times all throughout the story; however, those times were balanced out with times I had to put it down to laugh out loud and feel all the fuzzy feelings. It's been the only book in the series to really make me ugly cry....

This book was another great story in the duskwalker series. This series has had such a grip on me since coming out, with each new installment tying beautifully into the existing plot and world that has been meticulously crafted by the author. In this book, we follow Emerie, a demon slayer who is devoted to revenge for her brothers murder by a demon many years prior, and Ingram, the duskwalker who was captured by said demon slayer base while seeking help after a tragedy and was captured for...

I’d say this was a solid 4.5/5 stars for me, and that’s simply because I really did drag reading this, despite my love for this series. It took me awhile to get through, but not because of a lack of anything in particular, I just dragged with it, but Ingram and Emerie’s story is a fantastic mix mirroring how our previous couples wound up together. Ingram suffers a loss, then even more pain. Emerie is a Demonslayer. She has endured a lot of loss as well, and they connect on a deeper level, where...

I simply adore this series. I can’t get enough of their little glowing orbs and ridiculous personalities. This one was hard though. The twins have always had a special place in my heart. So the things they went through were tough and definitely had me in my feelings on multiple occasions. But the story buttoned up well, the pacing is just always so on point, just enough monster steam 😈 the FMC Emerie is amazing and I love all the cameos from the other characters from past books. Though I will...

Perfect book. I love Opal for writing this book. Everyone can relate to experiencing the loss of a loved one and so many other topics this story dealt with. The love the mmc. He was so goofy and silly which made things a little lighter. I hate torture, so I skipped that part as much as I could. )
